The critical thinking skill is one of the skills that students need to have in the present century. However, this skill is not fully owned by students. This article aims to describe the mathematics learning activities based on ethnomatematics in relation to foster students' critical thinking skill. The method used in this research is research of library research (library research). The data in this study is secondary data in the form of research results such as scientific books, scientific journals, research reports, and other relevant sources. Data analysis techniques used in the study include three stages: organize, synthesize, and identify. The results of literature studies show that by selecting appropriate cultural content, ethnomatmatic-based mathematics learning has relevance to indicators on critical thinking skills, which include interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and decision making. Thus, the learning of mathematics based on ethnomatematics can be used as one of mathematics learning alternative to develop students' critical thinking ability. keyword: ethnomathematics, critical thinking, culture. PENDAHULUAN Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang diperlukan di abad 21 dimana arus informasi sangat dinamis. Informasi dapat diperoleh dari manapun dan kapanpun dari berbagai sumber yang belum tentu dapat dipertanggungjawabakan kebenarannya. Untuk itulah diperlukan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Anderson, Garrison, & Archer (2004) mengungkapkan bahwa bila seseorang mengembangkan kemampuan berpkiris kritis maka ia akan cenderung untuk mencari kebenaran, penuh rasa ingin tahu, dapat menganalisis masalah dengan baik, dan berpikir secara sistematis. Dengan demikian seorang yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis akan mampu menyaring informasi yang diterima untuk kemudian dimanfaatkan sesuai kebutuhan. Menyadari pentingnya kemampuan berpikir kritis, pemerintah melalui lembaga-lembaga pendidikan formal khususnya, berusaha untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan tersebut pada setiap peserta didiknya. Hal ini tertuang dalam rasional pengembangan kurikulum 2013 yang mengungkapkan bahwa dalam kurikulum 2013 pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan ialah pembelajaran yang mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Good management of human resource will be able to improve the performance of employees based on the expectation of the organization. This study was aimed to determine the effect of working discipline and communication climate towards the employees' performance of the Department of Transportation of Yogyakarta (DPKY), with working motivation as an intervening variable. The research population was all employees of the Transportation Department of Yogyakarta, with the total number of 216 people. The number of samples was 68 people and taken by using a technique of stratified random sampling. The hypothesis testing was using t-test, F, Independent Sample t-test and path analysis. The results showed that: (1) There is a significant influence between working discipline and communication climate towards the working motivation of the employees of DPKY either partially or simultaneously, (2) There is a significant influence between working discipline and communication climate to employee performance DPKY, either partially or simultaneously, (3) There is a significant influence between working motivation towards the employee performance of DPKY, (4) There are differences in performance but it is not significant between employees with civil servant status and non-civil servant status; and (5) The direct effect (working discipline and communication climate towards the performance) is greater than indirect effect (work discipline and communication climate towards the performance through working motivation).

This research is aimed at figuring out the extent to which job characteristics, perceived organizational support and self-efficacy affect job satisfaction with work engagement serving as an intervening variable. The respondents of this research were 101 employees of the Centre for the Development and Empowerment of Educators and Educational Personnel (P4TK) of Art and Culture of Yogyakarta. The data were collected using questionnaires. The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The quantitative analysis techniques used in this research were t-test, F-test, multiple regression analysis and path analysis. The research yielded some results. Firstly, job characteristics and self-efficacy had a significant effect on work engagement and perceived organizational support did not have any significant effect on work engagement, but together it had a significant effect on work engagement. Secondly, job characteristics and perceived organizational support had a significant effect on job satisfaction, and self-efficacy did not have any significant effect on job satisfaction, but together it had a significant effect on job satisfaction. Thirdly, work engagement had a significant effect on job satisfaction. Fourthly, job characteristics and perceived organizational support had a greater effect on job satisfaction directly, and self-efficacy had a greater effect on job satisfaction indirectly through work engagement. The results of this research can be used as a reference for P4TK to improve employees' job satisfaction, and ultimately, support the achievement of organizational goals.
