INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND:The lives of millions of adolescents worldwide are at risk because they do not have the information; skills, health services and support which they need to go through sexual development during adolescence. The epidemic of Hepatitis B/HCV is now progressing at a rapid pace among young people. AIMS& OBJECTIVE: To assess knowledge of nursing students towards Hepatitis B/HCV Awareness, Prevention & Control. To assess knowledge increase after educational intervention by means of lectures and discussions among nursing students. MATERIAL& METHOD: An educational interventional study was conducted in Kushabhau Thakre Nursing College, Kolar Road, Bhopal. Study population included all Nursing students. Sample size was 200 students. Inclusion Criteria included all Nursing students present at the time of pre intervention interview and who gave informed consent. The data was analyzed using appropriate statistical software (MS excel and SPSS version 20). Mc Nemar test was applied for statistical significance of knowledge improvement by intervention. RESULT: Most of the Nursing students (95%) were correctly known that Hepatitis B/HCV is a viral disease and an effective vaccine against Hepatitis B is available in the market but they are not able to differentiate between Hepatitis B and C, in fact they have a mis-conception that both are the same entity. After intervention 87% of the students were aware about preventive measures against Hepatitis B/HCV. Health care providers (55%), Teaching (25) and Mass media (22%) were main source of knowledge for them. More than two thirds of students had positive attitude towards Hepatitis B/HCV infected patients. CONCLUSION: The study revealed that although a significant proportion of students were aware of Hepatitis B/HCV, their knowledge on prevention modalities was low as majority of them are unable to differentiate Hepatitis B from Hepatitis C. Students also harbored misconceptions on the modes of Hepatitis B/HCV transmission. Television, newspapers and internet were quoted as the most common source of information.

Introduction: Ketoacidosis is one of the acute metabolic complications of diabetes. It is more common and has a higher death rate in India &south Asia. To our knowledge, there are very few studies done on diabetic ketoacidosis in Madhya Pradesh. The aim of our study was to determine the hospital prevalence of diabetic ketoacidosis, to describe their epidemio-clinical features as well as to look for determinants of hospital mortality in patients attending Bundelkhand Medical college tertiary hospitalMethods: This is a descriptive retrospective study of diabetics admitted to this unit for ketoacidosis, over a period of 15 months (from January 1, 2021, to March 30, 2022). Results: Sixty-four patients were selected for the study. The hospital prevalence of ketoacidosis was 5.61%. The mean age of the patients was 46.3 years with a sex ratio of 0.94. Type 2 diabetes predominated in terms of frequency (62.5%). In 37.5% of cases, ketoacidosis was the inaugural diabetes. For patients known to be diabetic before admission, infection was the most common etiologic factor (48.44%), followed by discontinuation of treatment (31.25%).

Background: Chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) is a notorious infection and a major health problem in developing countries causing serious local damage and threatening complications. Early and effective treatment based on the knowledge of causative micro-organisms to ensures prompt clinical recovery and possible complications can thus be avoided. Objective: The of this study was to isolate the organisms associated with CSOM. Materials and Methods: The prospective study was carried out at a tertiary care hospital in a time period of 1 yr (data collection) clinically diagnosed CSOM cases were included in the study.Pus samples from both outpatient and inpatient departments were included.Detailed history was obtained from each patient according to the case proforma. Result: Out of 122 pus samples significant growth was seen in 120(98.36%) samples, were 2(1.63%) sample showed insignificant or no growth. It is mostly seen that aerobic gram negative rods outnumber gram positive cocci organisms in CSOM as reported by some authors 175 which is comparable to the findings in the present study where gram negative rods accounted for 94(78.33%) and gram positive cocci 26(21.66%). Conclusion: Klebsiella pneumoniae (24.16%) was the commonest isolate followed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa (18.33%).

Background: People's mental health has been impacted by the novel corona virus COVID 19. According to studies, a significant percentage of people who have recovered from the infection have mental health problems. The research was carried out on people who had recovered from COVID 19 in the previous year. Participants were contacted a month after being discharged from the hospital and encouraged to complete a questionnaire that included the DASS and IES scales. Anxiety, depression, stress, and post-traumatic stress disorder were all examined in the results (PTSD). Those with scores that indicated severe levels were encouraged to see a psychiatrist for proper treatment and therapy. The results of the DASS revealed that 2.5 percent of the participants had scores indicative of severe stress, 25.3 percent had scores indicative of severe anxiety, and 7.3 percent had scores indicative of severe depression. According to the results of the IES, 15.1 percent of the participants said the event had a significant impact on their mental health, and 17.2 percent of the participants had scores that indicated the presence of post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms. There is a strong link between IES scores and the severity of lung involvement.
