Penelitian ini membahas mengenai evaluasi penerapan 5S. Metode yang digunakanuntuk pengaturan area kerja menggunakan pendekatan dasar konsep 5S. Modelpenilaian untuk mengetahui kondisi area kerja dengan menggunakan cara audit. Melaluimetode ini area kerja akan berjalan lebih terorganisir dan terpelihara sehingga dapatmengurangi peluang terjadinya kecelakaan kerja.Saat ini area kerja yang ada di Departemen Transportasi berjalan cukup baik, Namummasih banyak kekurangan yang perlu di perbaiki untuk meningkatkan penerapan 5S.Pada area kerja sebelum dilakukan perbaikan penerapan 5S masuk ke dalam kriteriacukup dengan persentase 41,66%. Setelah dilakukannya perbaikan pada area kerjamenghasilkan nilai program 5S sebesar 76,66% dan masuk ke dalam kriteria baik.
Stres pada pengemudi angkutan umum dipengaruhi oleh kondisi kerja yang berimplikasipada kepuasan kerja. Stres kerja ini akan dapat menjadi faktor risiko bagi keselamatanmengemudi pada pengemudi bus. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tingkatkepuasan kerja pengemudi bus. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Job-related AffectiveWellbeing Scale (JAWS). Sebelum digunakan JAWS melalui proses penerjemahan terlebihdahulu. Reliabilitas JAWS hasil terjemahan sebesar 0,89. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa mayoritas subjek penelitian ini menunjukkan kecenderungan kepuasan kerja yangtinggi (56,1%). Selain itu juga ditemukan tidak ada hubungan antara umur dan kepuasankerja, namun ada hubungan antara pengalaman kerja dan kepuasan kerja, walaupunkoefisien korelasinya relatif lemah yaitu 0,334. Hasil analisa data juga menunjukkan tidakadanya perbedaan kepuasan kerja berdasarkan status pernikahan dan pendapatan bulanan.Namun demikian, terdapat perbedaan kepuasan kerja berdasarkan status kepegawaian,yaitu pengemudi bus dengan status kepegawaian sebagai pegawai tetap memiliki kepuasankerja yang lebih tinggi daripada pegawai kontrak.
The main purposes of this research is to identify and acquire the necessary information regarding the work effort in improving employee’s job performance. The research was conducted at Secretariat of Education and Training Agency on Ministry of Transportation in Jakarta, during October 2008 to January 2009. The method is survey with questionnaire as tool for data collecting. This research included 40 employees as unit analysis. Data is analyzed using descriptive approach. The results indicate the employees of Secretariat of Education and Training Agency on Ministry of Transportation in Jakarta have both high work effort and job performance. Based on those findings it could be concluded that high work effort has effected employees’ job performance at Secretariat of Education and Training Agency on Ministry of Transportation in Jakarta. Therefore, the employees job performance should be kept by giving the rewards. It should be put into account in maintaining employees at Secretariat of Education and Training Agency on Ministry of Transportation in Jakarta.
