Gambier production in Indonesia comes from smallholder plantations. West Sumatra Province is the leading producer of gambier, with a supply of around 80-90 per cent of the total national gambier production. Based on empirical data, when the selling price of gambier exports increases or fluctuates, the selling price of gambier farmers does not increase as much as the price increase at the level of exporter traders. This condition creates marketing inefficiency. The monopoly index (MPI) is one way to measure marketing efficiency based on the performance of each marketing agency. In this regard, the current business environment is also affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This study analyzed the monopoly level on the Gambier marketing channel in West Sumatra during the covid 19 pandemic. A survey was conducted in this study. The type of data used in this research is cross-section data. Respondents in this study were gambier farmers, gambier traders, and gambier exporters in Padang City, Lima Puluh Kota, and Pesisir Selatan Regency. The analytical method used in this study is using the Lerner index. Based on the analysis of the monopoly index, it is known that exporters have an enormous monopoly index value compared to other marketing institutions, where the collecting trader has a monopoly index of 4.84, inter-regional traders have 2.09, and exporters have 12.81 MDI. These values showed that exporters dominate gambier marketing in West Sumatra Province. The strong position of exporters in determining prices and marketing gambier is also influenced by cooperation with inter-regional traders (IRT).
Abstract. The purpose of this examine and analyze research is to nutmeg's marketing channel pattern and to identify the marketing instutional function involves in marketing channel. The used method is survey and descriptive analysis. The survey is conducted by following the marketing channel pattern and the observation activity that is do by farmer as producers to middlemen or finar consumers. The result shows that 2 pattern of marketing channel are applied in location. First pattern marketing channel is farmers -man in village second patter marketing channel is farmers -whole saler. Their activity, according to marketing function consists of exhange function(selling and buying), phisic function (transportation, saving, sortation) and fasility (finance, market information, risk management).
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan profil usaha pengolahan salak UKM Salacca dan menganalisis kondisi UKM Salacca dari aspek operasional, aspek pemasaran, dan aspek keuangan dan mengetahui keuntungan serta titik impas usaha. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus dengan perhitungan keuangan menggunakan metode variable costing. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan sekunder.Pengumpulan data dengan melakukan wawancara dan literatur. UKM Salacca hanya melakukan pencatatan sederhana. Keuntungan yang diperoleh UKM Salacca selama 1 bulan periode penelitian pada bulan Mei 2018 sebesar Rp 16.568.483,-. Keuntungan paling tinggi adalah Dodol salak sebesar Rp 7.212.542,-.Titik impas usaha selama periode penelitian pada bulan Mei 2018, impas penjualan Dodol salak sebesar Rp 10.833.430,- Kurma salak Rp 5.919.880,- dan Keripik salak Rp 4.844.260,-. UKM Salacca sudah berproduksi diatas titik impas dan mencapai keuntungan sebesar 32%. Saran yang diberikan kepada pihak usaha adalah UKM salacca dapat memperluas kerjasama dalam memasarkan produknya, menambah tenaga kerja dan peralatan agar efektif dan efisien, melakukan pencatatan yang lebih baik dan lebih rinci terkait biaya-biaya dan pendapatan penjualan yang dikeluarkan selama proses produksi.Kata kunci : UKM, keuntungan, titik impas
