The solubility of carbon dioxide in organic solvents acetone and
propionic acid has been measured with
an analytical method. The composition and the density of the
liquid phase in the binary vapor−liquid
equilibrium have been investigated at (313 and 333) K (for the system
carbon dioxide + acetone) and at
(298, 313, and 333) K (for the system carbon dioxide + propionic
acid) at pressures up the binary critical
pressure. The experimental results for the phase equilibrium have
been correlated with the Peng−Robinson EOS applying several mixing rules.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
