The article describes some variants of mechanisms of nitro compounds reduction, offered by authors in the scientific literature. The focus is on the description of the work of Kazakh and Russian chemists working in the field of catalysis. In most of the works, the classical scheme of the mechanism of the hydrogenation of Haber-Lukashevich nitrobenzene is confirmed and detailed by experimental methods. One of the interesting aspect of the article is description the mechanism of Ya.A. Dorfman which used the orbital theory of catalysis. The orbital approach of the Ya.A. Dorfman mechanism is constructed in the light of modern orbital representations and is valid for the hydrogenation of the nitro group on various catalysts. Among the discussed mechanisms are ideas of Haber, Debus, Jungers, V.P. Shmonina, Lukashevich, M. Geirovsky, Yu. B. Vasilyev, M.V. Klyuev, E.F. Weinstein, E. Gelder, Ya.A. Dorfman and others.
<p><em>p</em>-Xylylenediamine was synthesized with high yield through a hydrogenization of dinitrile of terephthalic acid. The effect of catalyst and solvent on the yield of the product was studied. The hydrogenization was carried out on skeletal catalysts based on alloy of Reney nickel Ni:Al (1:1) in aliphatic alcohols (C1-C4) at 4.0 MPa and 60 oC. New alkanearomatic polyimides were synthesized by one-step polycondensation of <em>p</em>-xylylenediamine and dianhydride of tricyclodecentetracarboxylic acid in the presence of isonicotinic acid as a catalyst in nonpolar amide solvents at 110-120 oC. The films based on the synthesized polyalkanimides are stable with 70-80 MPa breaking strength and 30-40% elongation. The glass transition temperature of the polymers is within 265-280 oC temperature range, the temperature of decomposition is above 340 oC. The tangent of dielectic loss of the films at 1 kHz and 25 oC is 0.002-0.004, the dielectric permitivity is about 3.22-3.35.</p>
In this study, hollow microspheres based on fly ash from the Ekibastuz coal field (Kazakhstan) and natural zeolite from the Taizhuzgen field (Kazakhstan) were used for the synthesis of catalysts. The catalysts were tested in the process of sulfur dioxide oxidation with different SO2 content in the SO2-Ar gas mixture at a flow vortex plant of the "Emulsifier" type with a capacity of 2 m 3 / h. Technology for the oxidation of SO2 with oxygen in an aqueous solution has been developed and the best technological parameters for the selective oxidation of SO2 with the production of sulfuric acid as a product have been determined. The degree of SO2 sorption is reached up to 95%. Also, the prepared catalysts were tested in the process of redox-catalytic cracking of fuel oil (with preliminary electromagnetic excitation of hydrocarbon molecules) to obtain light carbon fractions. The fuel oil of the Amangeldy Gas Processing Plant (AGPP, Kazakhstan) of the M-100 brand was studied as a feedstock. On the optimal catalyst in the products of oxidative cracking of fuel oil, the fraction of light gas oil makes up the main part. The resulting light gas oil contains a significant amount of alpha-olefins, which are scarce raw materials for the production of synthetic additives and oils.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
