This study aims to (1) analyze the level of income and (2) analyze the factors that influence the level of household welfare of cassava farmers. The study was conducted in Gunung Agung Village, Terusan Nunyai District, Central Lampung Regency with a survey method. The sample of farmers 78 respondents was taken by proportional stratified simple random sampling. Data analysis using quantitative descriptive methods include income analysis, welfare level analysis according to BPS and Sayogyo, and using a binary logit model. The results show that the source of household income of cassava farmers is increasingly diverse and leads to off and non-farm activities. Revenue from cassava farming has decreased but is still dominant. Based on BPS and Sayogyo criteria, most cassava farming households are in a decent and prosperous life group. The factors that influence the level of welfare of cassava farmers are the amount of work, cassava farming experience, and household income.
Isu kemiskinan merupakan masalah penting dalam pembangunan di Indonesia. Beberapa program pemerintah belum mampu mengatasi kemiskinan sehingga perlu dirumuskan model pemberdayaan masyarakat miskin yang sesuai dengan keadaan yang sebenarnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) mengindentifikasi tingkat dan penyebab kemiskinan petani hortikultura serta pola perilaku ekonomi petani dalam menghadapi kemiskinan, 2) mengkaji kinerja usaha ekonomi, lembaga keuangan dan lembaga sosial petani hortikultura, dan 3) merumuskan model pemberdayaan petani hortikultura. Lokasi penelitian ditentukan secara sengaja di sentra produksi hortikultura di Kecamatan Gisting, Kabupaten Tanggamus, Propinsi Lampung. Responden dan jumlah responden ditentukan dengan teknik snowball sampling sampai pada taraf redudancy. Metode penelitian adalah metode pengamatan berpartisipasi dengan wawancara mendalam dan diskusi kelompok fokus sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Analisis data menggunakan analisis kualitatif serta SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa petani hortikultura masih miskin dan sangat miskin karena lahan sempit dan keterbatasan modal. Sumberdaya manusia petani hortikultura masih rendah dan pola hidup petani hortikultura bersifat konsumtif. Petani hortikultura mengantisipasi kemiskinan dengan diversifikasi pekerjaan dan menjalin hubungan baik dengan sesama. Lembaga ekonomi dan keuangan masih dikuasai oleh pihak luar petani, sedangkan lembaga sosial petani masih belum banyak berfungsi. Model pemberdayaan yang dianjurkan untuk petani hortikultura adalah peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani, kemudahan permodalan, pembentukan lembaga pemasaran yang ditentukan oleh pemerintah, pendampingan dan perubahan pola hidup dan sikap petani.
This study aims to analyze the financial and sensitivity of the intensive system maintenance laying duck business in Gadingrejo Subdistrict of Pringsewu District. The location was chosen purposively in Gadingrejo Subdistrict, considering that the location is a duck center in Pringsewu. Data was collected in February 2019. Respondents were taken by census method with a total of 15 breeders. They were divided into six categories based on business experience, namely breeders with business experience of two years, four years, five years, six years, eight years and more than 10 years. The results showed that the laying duck business with intensive system maintenance in six categories was profitable and feasible to be developed based on investment criteria (Internal Rate Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Gross Benefit Cost (Gross B/C), and Payback Period (PP)). The laying duck business was  sensitive to decreas egg price and decreas production. Whereas the increase in production costs and the concentrate feed prices are only sensitive to the Payback Period investment criteria indicator. Keywords : duck breeder, financial, sensitivity
