Significance the study was to prove the importance of grounding the honest character education in Aceh at all levels. This phenomenon is referred to the decadency of morality as a result of the loss of an real culture. That trend of dishonesty spread in the country as which is a direct impact of the failure of the education system in forming the honest character of this nation. In fact, the honesty is the soul of education as well as the purpose of education itself. All education stakeholders should make effort to immediately revive the central role of education in building the character of youth nation who is studying at all levels of education. This study discusses the role of the Formal Diniyah Education program in improving the quality of traditional dayah education in Aceh. The study using a qualitative approach. The data were obtained through observation, documentation, and semi-structured interview with Diniyah Institution’s managers in Dayah Babussalam. The data collected were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the presence of the Formal Diniyah Education program was a solution for Dayah Babussalam to improve the quality of her education. In practice, the presence of the Formal Diniyah Education program makes the existing traditional curriculum more developed. In addition, with the Imtiḥan Waṭoni (IW) examination, the quality of students also increases. Likewise, the presence of the Formal Diniyah Education program has also made modern education management integrated with Dayah Babussalam. The motivation of students to study in the dayah is also increasing where the Formal Diniyah Education diploma is very effective in "binding" the students to stay and endure in the dayah. Meanwhile, the challenge faced is the lack of expert teachers in teaching subjects in the Formal Diniyah Education curriculum.AbstrakPenelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan tujuan membahas peran program Pendidikan Diniyah Formal (PDF) dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dayah tradisional di Aceh. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi, dokumentasi serta wawancara semi terstruktur dengan pengelola PDF di Dayah Babussalam. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hadirnya program PDF menjadi solusi bagi Dayah Babussalam dalam upaya peningkatan mutu pendidikannya. Dalam pelaksanaannya, kehadiran program PDF membuat kurikulum tradisional yang sudah lebih dahulu ada menjadi lebih berkembang. Selain itu, dengan soal Imtiḥan Waṭani (IW) atau ujian nasional PDF yang berbahasa Arab membuat kualitas santri juga meningkat. Begitu juga, kehadiran program PDF juga membuat terintegrasinya manajemen pendidikan modern di Dayah Babussalam. Motivasi santri untuk belajar di dayah juga semakin meningkat dimana ijazah formal PDF ini sangat efektif “mengikat” para santri untuk bertahan di dayah. Sementara tantangan yang dihadapi yaitu kurangnya guru pakar dalam mengajarkan mata pelajaran dalam kurikulum PDF.
Artikel ini menggambarkan paradigma pemikiran Islam Wasaṭiyah salah seorang ulama Aceh, Tgk. H. Muhammad Yusuf A. Wahab atau lebih dikenal dengan panggilan Tu Sop Jeunieb yang saat ini menjabat sebagai Ketua Himpunan Ulama Dayah Aceh (HUDA). Tu Sop aktif berdakwah dengan lisan dan perbuatan. Untuk memperluas jangkauan dakwahnya, Tu Sop juga memanfaatkan sarana-sarana dakwah modern seperti media sosial, radio, website dan lainnya. Cakupan dakwahnya meliputi aspek politik, sosial, moral spiritual, aqidah dan akhlak, motivasi dan pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan objek studi pemikiran tokoh. Data dikumpulkan melalui telaah dokumen, observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Data kemudian dianalisis secara interpretatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran Tu Sop Jeunieb menekankan aspek-aspek pendekatan moderasi Islam atau pandangan “pertengahan” dalam beragama. Narasi Tu Sop senantiasa berada di tengah-tengah antara dua benturan dengan tujuan menemukan titik temu dalam perbedaan. Tu Sop memandang mazhab Ahlusunnah wal Jamā’ah secara Wasaṭiyah. Paradigma Islam Wasatiyah Tu Sop Jeunieb antara lain yaitu berorientasi kepada persatuan (Wiḥdat al-Ummah), berakhlak dan menjaga rasa aman, seimbang antara dunia dan akhirat, seimbang antara akal dan teks suci, orientasi kepada kebaikan, hikmah dan nasehat yang baik, menolak segala macam penyimpangan. Hasil penelitian ini sangat penting sebagai pedoman dalam membumikan konsep Islam Wasaṭiyah yang kian dibutuhkan akhir-akhir ini, khususnya saat umat Islam dihadapkan pada berbagai potensi konflik dan perpecahan.
This study described the religious attitudes influenced by the Jawi Script upon people living in the Seulimeum Subdistrict of Aceh Besar District, Indonesia. The data for this qualitative study were gathered through interviews and observations that included three activities: behavioral observation, direct questioning, and direct disclosure. A checklist and field notes accompanied observations, while direct questioning and direct disclosure involved unstructured interviews with eight respondents. The data was then qualitatively analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The study's findings suggested that the Jawi script instructional process had influenced respondents’ religious attitudes toward aqidah, ibadah, morals, and social society. In the field of aqidah, Jawi script instructional process strengthened the aqidah that adheres to the creed of Ahlusunnah wal Jama’ah. They also rejected another aqidah, armed with knowledge from the Jawi Script. Religious attitudes also were reflected in ibadah activities under the knowledge learned from the Shafi'i school of thought's Jawi Script. Regarding morals and social society, Jawi script instructional process strengthened husband-wife relationships, strengthened social traditions with Islamic nuances, and fostered social unity.
The learning method is a way that is taken by educators in delivering subject matter in order to achieve effective learning objectives. Among the methods used to eradicate illiteracy in the Qur'an is the A Ba Ta Tsa method at the Ibn Mas'ud Children's Tahfizh Qur'an Institute (LTQA) Beurawe Village Banda Aceh, but in practice there are still educators who have not applied the A method. Ba Ta Tsa properly and correctly. This study aims to determine the process of implementing Al-Qur'an learning using the A Ba Ta Tsa method, to determine the competence and professionalism of teachers in using the A Ba Ta Tsa method and to find solutions to the problems that occur in the process of implementing ak-Qur'an learning. based on the A ba Ta Tsa method at LTQA Ibnu Mas'ud, Beurawe Village, Banda Aceh. The method used in this research is classroom action research. The subjects in this study were educators and students. Data collection techniques in this study using observation and tests. The results of this study indicate that the process of implementing the learning of the Qur'an using the A Ba Ta Tsa method has been effective with the average achievement of each cycle is 89%, the competence and professionalism of the teacher in using the A Ba Ta Tsa method is very good and every problems always find solutions to solve them. So that the use of the A Ba Ta Tsa method in Ibn Mas'ud's LTQA has been implemented well.
