Perfil nutricional de crianças menores de dois anos, informações sociodemográficas e estado nutricional da mãe, no município de Palmas (TO)Nutritional profile of children under two years of age, sociodemographic information and nutritional status of the mother, in the municipality of Palmas (TO) RESUMOA avaliação do estado nutricional de crianças é importante para o monitoramento da qualidade de vida e desenvolvimento infantil, além de preditor das condições de vida da população. O objetivo do estudo foi verificar o perfil nutricional, informações sociodemográficas e estado nutricional da mãe, em crianças menores de dois anos residentes no município de Palmas (TO). Trata-se de uma pesquisa de natureza quantitativa, de caráter transversal, operando-se na classificação descritiva, por meio de levantamento/survey no qual utiliza técnicas estatísticas, e instrumento de pesquisa (questionário) contendo questões relativas às variáveis sociodemográficas. A amostra estudada foi constituída de 109 crianças menores de dois anos no município, sendo possível avaliar o estado nutricional ao nascer de 87 (79,80%) e atual de 52 (47,70%) crianças. A eutrofia foi o estado nutricional mais frequente ao nascer e atual nas crianças estudadas. O excesso de peso foi a principal alteração do estado nutricional observada em crianças menores de dois anos no município. O monitoramento do estado nutricional e a relação com os fatores determinantes ao longo dos dois anos de vida da criança é importante para a identificação de fatores de risco que podem alterar o desenvolvimento infantil.

The main objective of this work is to contribute to the clinical professional practice in oncology, as well as, to the training of students in the health field. Starting from the molecular basis, risk and nutrition factors and cancer prevention, going through screening and nutritional assessment, since diet therapy treatment, symptom control, main nutritional problems and palliative care, and even spirituality, with the nutritional approach for adults and pediatric patients as one of its strengths. This way, readers are invited to enjoy the knowledge shared by experienced health professionals and researchers, who work in oncology. In addition to these experiences, valuable reports are presented from patients who have experienced (or are experiencing) cancer treatment, with the aim of bringing the reader closer to a different perspective of this multidimensional reality. It is known that the experience of an oncological treatment is accompanied by varied emotions and feelings for everyone involved, both for the team of professionals and for family members, in addition to the role of the patients themselves. And that is why, from the different spectrums covered, it is expected to help the professional performance in this ascending area of health to occur even more in a holistic and humanized way.
