The objective of this research was to evaluate the need for blended learning development to enhance the critical thinking of students. Selected by using multistage random sampling, the 450 samples comprised of 376 vocational students and 69 teachers at vocational level. The research instrument used was a needs evaluation form, which was necessary to improve blended learning to enhance critical thinking. The index of consistency (IOC) was between 0.56-1.00, and the total reliability was 0.94. The research was conducted and data collected from July 2018 to August 2018. 445 completed evaluation forms, 98.88% of the total sent out, were returned to researchers. Frequency, percentage, PNI(Modified), and content analysis were used to analyze the data. The research results showed that the vocational students and teachers agreed on the same point that there should be development of student critical thinking skills. This development should comprise of critical thinking skills, learning achievement, and learning management. The recommendations made for improvement were to increase discipline within educational institutes, and to change and add facilities to support modern learning styles. Testing styles should be modern and correspond to student contexts. Moreover, learning styles should be improved to be up-to-date and to correspond to students’ needs and their real lives.
This study is aimed at comparing academic achievements and critical thinking skills between the groups undertaking blended service learning and typical learning. A cluster random sampling was employed to sample 62 students. The experimental and control groups respectively comprised 30 and 32 of them. The instruments were 1) a Copper Model lesson plan, 2) online instructional media on Computer and Information Technology, 3) a critical thinking measurement, and 4) an academic achievement measurement. Data were analyzed using mean (𝒙), standard deviation (SD), and one-way MANOVA. Results concluded that the experimental group with blended service learning achieved higher academic achievements and critical thinking skills than the control group at the .05 significance level.
The purpose of the study reported on in this paper was to identify and compare instructors and students perceptions of Team-Based Learning (TBL). Participants were 270 instructors and 288 fourth year students from the faculties of Industrial Education at six universities in Bangkok. The data were analyzed using factor analysis and structural equation modeling with LISRELTM. Results indicated that both instructors and students agreed on the importance of two factors in TBL: Active Learning and Authentic Assessment. Students were significantly more likely to favor The Value of Team. Instructors were significantly more likely to value the importance of Instructional Design for TBL.
E-learning is a term used to describe the elearning systems that delivers the learning content by using the Internet to offer the learning material to students supported by activities, assessments, and guidance. This paper presents an e-Learning concept that offers hearing-Impaired students in correspondence with the content in the learning environment. The system is designed ably for Hearing-Impaired students for the purpose of their lifelong learning. Thus, the purposes of this paper were 1) to develop concept of assistive e-learning system with multinary learning for Hearing-Impaired students and 2) to evaluate the conceptual framework of assistive e-learning system with multinary learning for Hearing-Impaired students. The e-Learning system was developed on a HTML5 platform. A MySQL database management system was used alongside an Apache web server, and PHP language was used as a software tool for development. The e-Learning framework which was designed for the special needs of hearingimpaired students was used to perform multinary information (multimedia, text and sign language). It also provides a menu for users, assisting them in learning how to use the e-learning by themselves. The system was evaluated using the Blackbox method of software evaluation. The result showed that the level of efficiency of the system framework was at an excellent level and could efficiently be used in educational institutions. Index Terms-assistive e-learning, conceptual framework, hearing-impaired and sign language
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
