The purpose of this research is to explain the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and academic potential and their interactions toward problem solving and critical thinking skills of high school students. This research is a quasi-experiment that implements two different strategies with pretest-posttest non equivalent control group design by treatment factorial 2x2 which was conducted in the 2018/2019 academic year. Population of this research was class X students of SMA Negeri 8 Mataram, while the research sample was class X students of 2 classes with a purposive sampling technique. Research instruments is test of problem solving skills and test of critical thinking skills. Data analysis was performed with descriptive analysis and to test the hypothesis an anacova test was followed by further test used of Least Significant Difference (LSD). The calculation is aided by the SPSS 14 for Windows program. The results of this research showed that Problem Based Learning affects the problem solving and critical thinking skills. While academic ability (potential) and interaction of learning strategies with academic potential do not affect the problem solving and critical thinking skills of high school students on enviromental topic.
This community service activity aims to improve the ability of the people of Kidang Village in making compost using EM4 technology. This activity is intended for farmer groups, village heads and youth clubs. The method of implementing this service includes the coordination of activities, preparation of tools and materials, implementation and demonstration. This activity is carried out by providing material and how to make compost with EM4 technology. Next is the demonstration using the tools and materials provided previously. In this activity, the training participants were very enthusiastic in participating in the activity until it was finished. There is a positive response so that the activities are held in each hamlet. It is hoped that the delivery of material can be obtained thoroughly by all the people of Kidang Village. In addition, activities like this can be continued to the mass production stage, so that in the future it is expected that Kidang Village has its own fertilizer products that can be traded to increase the income of its people.
ABSTRAK: Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal di SMP Negeri 10 Mataram menunjukkan bahwa siswa kurang dilibatkan dalam proses pembelajaran, siswa cenderung pasif dan daya ketertarikannya dalam pembelajaran tidak maksimal disebabkan karena minimnya variasi dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran oleh guru dan belum pernah menggunakan media permainan kartu domino. Oleh karena itu, melalui pengembangan LKS berbasis permainan kartu domino diharapkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk dan kelayakan lembar kerja siswa (LKS) berbasis permainan kartu domino. Lembar kerja siswa (LKS) berbasis permainan kartu domino merupakan lembar kerja siswa dengan subtansi materi IPA menjadi lebih menarik dan menyenangkan untuk dipelajari dibandingkan dengan media yang lain karena permainan kartu domino ini menumbuhkan rasa ingin tahu yang berlebih dan tertantang untuk mencri pernyataanpernyataan dengan jawaban-jawaban yang tepat. Model pengembangan dalam penelitian ini adalah model 4-D milik Thiagarajan, Semmel dan Semmel (1974) yang terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu : 1) Define; 2) Design; 3) Develop; dan 4) Disseminate. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan hanya tiga tahap yaitu tahap define, design dan develop. Peran validator akan diminta setelah tahap develop diselesaikan. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh skor rata-rata hasil validasi ahli sebesar 78,33%. Hasil analisis dari implementasi perangkat ini memperoleh presentasi oleh siswa sebesar 94% dengan kategori sangat praktis dan dari hasil analisis guru dalam hal kepraktisan perangkat sebesar 70% dengan kategori praktis sedangkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa ketuntasan klasikalnya sebesar 80%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan LKS berbasis permainan kartu domino ini dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif ssiwa.ABSTRACT: Based on the results of preliminary observations at SMP Negeri 10 Mataram shows that students are less involved in the learning process, students tend to be passive and their interest in learning is not optimal due to the lack of variation in the use of instructional media by teachers and have never used the media of domino cards. ABSTRAK: Pembelajaran IPA termasuk Biologi diupayakan agar mengarah pada pembentukan keterampilan bukan hanya bertumpu pada penguasaan konseptual. Sehingga perlu sejak dini menanamkan keterampilan pada diri mahasiswa melalui kegiatan belajar mengajar, salah satunya keterampilan proses sains. Mahasiswa FPMIPA IKIP Mataram saat ini merupakan calon-calon pendidik IPA masa depan yang memiliki tanggung jawab untuk melatih siswa-siswanya mencapai hasil belajar yang diharapkan. Keterampilan proses sains adalah salah satu kecakapan hidup yang harus dimiliki oleh seseorang dalam menghadapi persaingan di abad 21. Keterampilan ini dapat dilatihkan melalui pembelajaran inkuiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa setelah diajarkan menggunakan worksheet berorientasi pembelajaran inkuiri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pra-eksperimen dengan desain one shoot case study. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah observasi dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa yang menggunakan worksheet berbasis inkuri sebesar 75.73 dengan kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil di atas, simpulan penelitian ini adalah keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa setelah diimplementasi worksheet berorientasi pembelajaran inkuiri rata-rata mencapai kategori baik. So it is necessary to instill skills in students through teaching and learning activities, one of them is science process skills. FPMIPA IKIP Mataram students are currently future candidates for natural science educators who have the responsibility to train their students to achieve the expected learning outcomes. Science process skills are one of the life skills that a person must possess in facing competition in the 21st century. These skills can be trained through inquiry learning. This study aims to describe the students' science process skills after being taught using an inquiry-oriented worksheet. This type of research is a pre-experimental design with one shoot case study. Data collection techniques are observation and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate the science process skills of students who use an inkuri-based worksheet of 75.73 with good categories. Based on the results above, the conclusion of this research is the science process skills of students after the implementation of the inquiry-oriented worksheet on average reaches a good category.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of healing in cut wounds by administering Jatropha curcas in a gel formulation that is effective in healing cuts of tested animals. The sap was obtained by breaking Jatropha curcas (Jathropha curcas), stored and then was formulated into a gel with a sap concentration of 0%, 8%, 16%. The wound healing effect test was carried out on mice by injuring 15 mm and was smeared every day with Jatropha gum gel and compared to Betadine until the wound healed. The result of the study showed that the gel formula with a concentration of 0% healed wounds on the 10th day, an concentration of 8% healed the wounds on the 8th day, and a concentration of 16% on the 6th day, whereas Betadine 10% as a comparison of mice died. Thus, from the research conducted it can be concluded that Jatropha curcas in the form of gel preparations can provide the best healing effect at a concentration of 16% with the fastest wound healing time of 6 days.
