The 21st-century challenges require the next generations to have various skills to deal with, including scientific process skills. This study aimed to describe the scientific process skills of the senior high school student in Palembang in term of ecology subject. This descriptive quantitative research observed 231 respondents of the tenth-grade student from two different sub-districts in Palembang, Gandus and West Ilir. The student’s scientific process skills were measured using the test instrument and interview. The results showed that there were various outcomes for each indicator in Gandus i.e. 68.87% (observing), 75.00% (grouping), 54.81% (interpreting), 73.08% (predicting), 52.56% (formulating a hypothesis), 49.04% (planning an experiment), and 43.59% (communicating). Meanwhile in West Ilir the outcomes for students’ scientific process skills were 69.48% (observing), 66.34% (grouping), 56.65% (interpreting), 64.04% (predicting), 59.64% (formulating a hypothesis), 47.85% (planning an experiment), and 41.39% (communicating). It can be concluded that the students’ scientific process skills in Palembang were categorized as the medium. Hence, strategies to promote students’ scientific process skills in biology class still need to be improved especially in ecology learning.
Fly Grill adalah alat berupa potongan kayu yang disusun untuk melakukan survey kepadatan lalat. Lalat merupakan salah satu jenis serangga pengganggu dan dapat menyebarkan penyakit terhadap kesehatan manusia. Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia Nomor : 519/MENKES/SK/VI/2008 tentang pedoman penyelenggaraan pasar sehat dalam bidang pengendalian vektor dan binatang penular penyakit yang memerlukan adanya koordinasi pengendalian vektor salah satunya adalah lalat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat efektivitas Fly Grill modifikasi dalam mengurangi kepadatan lalat di tempat penjualan daging di Pasar Sukaramai Kota Medan Tahun 2018. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) yaitu kegiatan percobaan yang bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh yang ditimbulkan sebagai akibat adanya perlakuan dengan mengabaikan beberapa faktor pengganggu. Sampel penelitian adalah seluruh populasi yaitu setiap sudut yang mewakili tempat penjualan daging di Pasar Sukaramai Kota Medan sebanyak 2 sudut tempat penjualan daging dan diulangi selama 3 hari. Data diperoleh langsung melalui pengukuran kepadatan lalat dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengukuran kepadatan lalat dengan Fly Grill yang sudah dimodifikasi dengan lem A lebih efektif yaitu (0,028) < 0,05 untuk mengurangi kepadatan lalat di Pasar Sukaramai Kota Medan karena didapatkan rata-rata yang telah melebihi baku mutu sesuai dengan Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 50 Tahun 2017 Tentang Standar Baku Mutu Kesehatan Lingkungan Dan Persyaratan Kesehatan Untuk Vektor Dan Binatang Pembawa Penyakit Serta Pengendaliannya. Oleh karena itu disarankan untuk menggunakan Fly Grill dalam mengukur kepadatan lalat serta perlu adanya pemberantasan dan pengendalian lalat di Pasar Sukaramai Kota Medan dengan memodifikasi Fly Grill karena dari hasil penelitian yang didapatkan telah melebihi 2 ekor per blok grill.
One product of technology that can be used to develop teaching materials for the learning process is interactive multimedia which is a combination of various media in the form of text, graphics, audio, and interactions that are used to convey information messages from sender to receiver equipped with a controller which can be operated by the user. Efforts can be made to make learning effective one of which is the use of multimedia in interactive learning. Tritech Vocational School which will be the target of research is Information Technology Vocational High School. This school has implemented a learning system that utilizes technology as a medium and aids in learning activities, but not all subject teachers apply the same thing. Indonesian language learning in particular still uses teaching books as a guide and the only source of learning. This is one of the causes of learning activities in Indonesian language subjects tend to be monotonous and boring, because learning activities are still teacher-centered, so there is no interaction with students. This method of research is development research (Research and Development) which is a study used to produce certain products and test the effectiveness of these products. This research develops Indonesian language teaching materials in interactive multimedia-based negotiating text material for grade 10th in Tritech Informatika vocational Highschool, Medan, North Sumatera, Indoneisa.
