Sudah menjadi budaya/ kebiasaan bagi wisata lokal melakukan aktifitas wisata membeli makanan ringan baik sebagai makanan ringan dan sebagai oleh-oleh. Warga Kepulauan Seribu Jakarta Utara melihat peluang besar dalam bisnis makanan ringan ini mengingat tingkat kunjungan wisatawan ke Kepulauan Seribu yang selalu tinggi terutama di akhir pekan (BAS, 25 Desember 2017). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode survei dan menggunakan uji organoleptik dan uji hedonik. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 5 produk UKM Warga kepulauan seribu dengan berbahan dasar ikan selar, ikan teri, cumi dan buah sukun. Konsumen tertarik untuk membeli makanan ringan karena penampilan kemasan yang menarik serta merasakan produk makanan ringan yang enak. Wisatawan menyukai makanan ringan dengan kemasan yang manarik. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat diketahui kemasan produk yang disukai berwarna biru langit. Produk yang disukai dari produk krupuk dan Abon ikan selar adalah aroma dan tekstur. Produk Stik berbahan cumi disukai pada rasa dan tekstur. Produk sambal berbahan teri dan keripik bahan sukun disukai pada tekstur dan warna.
Mentawai is well known as an ecotourism area in Indonesia, with its Siberut National Park recognized as part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves. People come to visit this exotic area every year to do activities and enjoying the natural surroundings. Tourist visits to Mentawai were escalating by years, both domestic and foreign tourists. Regional income from tourism was also increasing. Ecotourism is known worldwide for its benefit for economic contribution to local communities and poverty alleviation. The economic contribution of ecotourism is often appreciated through its direct effect on local business enterprises on sites. However, statistics today showed that Mentawai are still categorized as underdeveloped and poor. Therefore, this descriptive research objective was to assess tourism contribution by means of direct effect to local business enterprises and challenges faced by villages near Siberut National Park, South Siberut, Mentawai. A survey was conducted in November 2018 by distributing questionnaires to 19 representatives of tourism-related Local Business Enterprises (LBEs) using an accidental sampling technique. Data collected were then processed, analyzed and interpreted. In conclusion, this study shows that there is a low direct effect of tourism to the existing Local Business Enterprise in the villages of Muntei, Madobag, and Matotonan of South Siberut, Mentawai Island Regency, West Sumatera, Indonesia. In addition, essential challenges exist, not to mention managerial, predominantly concerning financial and legal matters. It is recommended that local government and other stakeholders put more consideration not only on environmental and social aspects, but also economy, represented by local business enterprises. Initiatives and integrated actions should be arranged and put in practice as empowering tourism, particularly ecotourism to its optimum, to bring about foremost contribution to local economy through direct effect of tourism to local business enterprises. Hotel is a labor-intensive industry which until now still requires a lot of human resources in its work operations. The nature of hotel is open for 24 hours to serve guests, especially in operational departments. Overall hotel employees tend not to last long at work. Some employees state that their decision to leave, due to incompatibility with the work environment. This study aimed to analyze the impact of resilience on hotel employees’ engagement in Jakarta. The study was conducted with a quantitative descriptive approach. Research respondents were hotel employees in Jakarta area. Data was collected by convenience sampling, by distributing questionnaire which consisted of respondents’ profiles and statement of variable X variable (resilience) and Y variable (work engagement). The data was analyzed by using validity and reliability test, descriptive (frequency and mean), Pearson correlation, coefficient determination and simple linear regression test. The study found that there was a strong relationship between resilience and work engagement. The higher employees’ resilience is the higher employee engagement will be.
Abstract-This article emphasizes on the role or social responsibility of higher education as an agent of change. Community-based tourism in the form of tourism village badly requires such roles and responsibilities of higher education institution, especially the tourism higher education institutions. This institution shall promote its existence in escorting, supervising and even enhancing community capacity both formatively and substantively, also serving as social, economic and cultural processes towards community empowerment through community-based tourism activities.
