Background: Cervical cancer can be recognized at the pre-cancer stage by doing early detection test in married women. One of the cervical cancer early detection methods is Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) test. The coverage of the early detection of cervical cancer through VIA test method in 2017 was still very low, i. e. 1.03% from the national target of 50%. The research aims to know the determinants of cervical cancer early detection behaviour by using IVA test method in visitors of Policlinic KIA-KB (Pediatric and Family Planning Polyclinic) in Kassi-Kassi Public Health Center.Methods: The research was observational analytical research with cross-sectional study design. The population of the study was all women of fertile couple that visited Policlinic KIA-KB in Kassi-Kassi Public Health Center and lived within the coverage area of Kassi-Kassi Public Health Center, which amounted to 135 women. The samples were 101 women that were collected by using the accidental sampling technique.Results: The results showed that there was a relation between knowledge (p=0.000), attitude (p=0.005), husband support (p=0.000), as well as health worker support (p=0.000) and early detection behaviour by using IVA test method. Conclusions: Meanwhile, there was no relation between education and early detection behaviour by using IVA test method. There should be proactive and creative actions from health workers in improving the knowledge of the targets and their husbands about early detection of cervical cancer.
The purpose of this study was to determine the speech acts strategies used by a gaming Youtuber, Jess No Limit in one of his online-game streaming videos. A mixed-method research design was employed by combining the qualitative and quantitative approaches to data collection and data analysis. The results of this study suggest that a gaming Youtuber most likely use positive politeness strategies to seek agreement, pay attention to his interests, wants or needs, giving away rewards, engaging the viewers in his activities, provide reasons and intensify attention to the speaker. This positive politeness strategy is a You-tuber's strength in communicating to pique the audience's interest and sympathy and gain as many subscribers as possible.
Indonesia has been made busy by the circulation of video footage showing the stand up comedian (komika) in a stand up comedy event that offend SARA (ethnicity, religion, ancestry, and group of people). The purpose of this study was to analyze the komika’s materials using forensic linguistic analysis with functional pragmatic approaches. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with functional pragmatic analysis using data analysis techniques (1) speech illocution analysis, (2) speech implicature, and (3) level of speech validity. The results showed that the illocutionary power and implicature of the identified komika could fulfill the elements of leading opinion as an expression offending SARA. On the illocutionary power of speech, it is classified that an indicated declarative and expressive speech can potentially offend the speech partner. Moreover, if the diction is used in the speech, it raises the issue of SARA.
Rhetoric skills are essential for students. Through rhetoric, students can convey a purpose and objective persuasively. Students' rhetorical skills can be developed by watching vlog diaries. By making a habit of watching diary vlogs, it is hoped that it can affect students' rhetorical skills. This study aims to determine how high the relationship between the habit of watching diary vlogs with rhetorical skills in students of the Master's Program in Indonesian Language Education UHAMKA. Quantitative research with a crosssectional method is used as a research work step. The Chi-Square test used was found to have a PV value of 0.043, meaning that the value of 0.043 is < alpha (0.05) with an odds ratio (OP) of 0.043 with a range (0.079-2.066), which means that the habit of watching this vlog diary has twice the potential for strength, there is a relationship with rhetorical skills. This study concludes a moderate relationship between the habit of watching diary vlogs and rhetorical skills..
