The purpose of this research was to identify phenyl propanoid compounds found in the root bark of Datuan (Ficus vasculosa Wall. Ex Miq) and to test the activity of Escherichia coli. Isolation was carried out by maceration method using methanol as a solvent. Then the extract was fractionated by Vacuum Liquid Chromatography and Gravity Column Chromatography methods using n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol eluents. The result was obtained a yellow crystal needle orange weighing 20 mg with a melting point of 137°C - 140°C. Separation by TLC method showed that this compound had an Rf value of 0.56 with n-hexane: acetone eluent (6: 4). UV-Vis spectra showed three peaks on 310 nm, 228 nm and 200 nm. IR spectra showed that the isolated compound has unsaturated ester carbonyl groups conjugated with double bonds, aromatic substituted aromatic rings, and hydroxy groups. GC-MS analysis obtained molecular ions M+ = 178. The data of UV-Vis, IR and GC-MS analysis can be concluded that the isolated phenyl propanoid compound is a cinnamic derivative that is methyl p-hydroxycinamic. The results of bioactivity tests on E. Coli showed that the isolated compounds did not have antibacterial activity which was marked by the absence of a clear zone around the paper disk.
Cardiovascular problems such as atrial fibrillation is a serious and growing health problem in the global community. The presence of atrial fibrillation increases the risk of stroke, which in turn has its own problems and impact. Data have shown that the use of warfarin reduces the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation, yet this drug has been historically underutilized due to challenges with its use.New oral anticoagulants (NOACs) are easier to use, have a lower risk of major bleeding, and have been shown to be non-inferior, and in some cases, superior to warfarin. NOACs have started to replace warfarin as the first choice anticoagulant in clinical practice. Optimal strategies to reduce stroke and risk of major bleeding in subsets of atrial fibrillation patients undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and ablation will continue to evolve. When evaluating patients with AF, care should be taken to address the risk of stroke and provide recommendations on the use of anticoagulation to reduce it.As atrial fibrillation becomes the most prevalent arrhythmia that is associated with an increased risk of ischemic stroke, stroke prevention is crucial for management of atrial fibrillation patients. The NOACs, such as dabigatran, rivaroxaban, apixaban and edoxaban, are at least as effective as warfarin in reducing ischemic stroke with a lower rate of major bleeding. This review article provides evidence on the performance of NOACs in AF patients with different clinical conditions. Despite the evidence from recent trials, further research is necessary for patients undergoing PCI, bioprosthetic valve replacement, transcatheter aortic valve intervention, mitraclip and for those requiring long-term antiplatelet therapy over anticoagulation.
Natural wealth is an enormous gift. Located in northern part of Bandung, in a mountainous area, Mekarsaluyu Village has vast natural potential. The cool air, beautiful scenery, and the existence of rivers and contoured land, and the culture in the form of art and traditional music and culinary make the village has a unique local wealth. However, the local wealth available has not been managed well. The potential referred to has not yet had an optimal positive impact both on the social and economic life of its inhabitants. The background of this problem gives encouragement to empower the people of Mekarsaluyu Village by planning a tourist village development program with the theme of ecotourism. To design the program, it was necessary to collect data on the existing conditions in Mekarsaluyu Village, covering the physical aspects of natural resources and the non-physical aspects of the socio-cultural community. Getting real, accurate, and actual needs necessary to update the data and complete the lack of required data, were important for determining the ecotourism village program's planning. Therefore, the aim of this work was to carry out community service in counseling on updating data for Mekarsaluyu Village residents. The method used was in the form of training and assistance in filling out data. The writing team prepared the necessary database format tools in data variables related to the ecotourism village planning program. Then together with the residents, simulated the form filling. The results obtained from this community service are the ability of villager residents to fill in actual data independently with accuracy and validity related to physical data on the natural geographical conditions and Mekarsaluyu Village's socio-cultural community.
