Pinto VRS, Ferreira SCM. Computerized tool to calculate nursing quality indicators: a methodological research [internet] 2014 Oct [cited year month day]; 13 (suppl I): 382-5. Available from:ABSTRACT This is a dissertation project undertaken as part of the Professional Masters in Healthcare Nursing, Fluminense Federal University. Aims: To develop a computerized tool for measuring quality indicators of nursing care;to identify indicators of care quality from the viewpoint of nurses in medical clinics; to build a computerized spreadsheet for indicator calculation; to elaborate the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the completion of the worksheet; to test the computerized spreadsheet and its application in the measurement of the proposed indicators. Method: This is a research methodology that refers to the investigations of the methods for obtaining, organizing and analyzing data. The subjects are nurses from clinical units of a university hospital.Ethical aspects will be respected, as required by CNS Resolution 466/2012.
Aim: to identify the main indicators for assessing the quality of nursing care from the perspective of nurses.Method: this is a descriptive-exploratory study involving a qualitative approach, with 14 nurses from the medical clinic units of a university hospital in Rio de Janeiro. The data were collected by semi-structured interview and treated by descriptive statistics and content analysis. Results: according to nurses' reports, the three priority indicators were: incidence of pressure injury, incidence of fall, and incidence of phlebitis.
Conclusion:The evaluation of the risk factors that may trigger pressure injury, fall and phlebitis are within the scope of the nurse, who can develop preventive strategies that are based on nursing protocols such as change of position, evaluation and change of vascular access devices.
