Abstracthis study aimed at designing an instrument composed of 72 questions that evaluate the extent to which sotware programs teach pronunciation of English as a Foreign Language and/or Second Language (EFL/ESL) following the principles of the Communicative Approach (Celce-Murcia et al, 2010). he designed instrument was tested for reliability and validity. For this purpose, 46 EFL/ESL teachers used the instrument to analyze an online version of the sotware program Pronunciation Power 2. he participants' answers to the questions were subjected to reliability and validity tests. he results of these statistical tests suggest the instrument is potentially valid for evaluating EFL/ESL pronunciation teaching sotware. Publishers have promoted these programs stating they are efective and of good quality. However, when it comes to the advertising discourse of English language teaching publishers, promotion is not always factual, as investigated by Carvalho (2011). Teachers and learners should not be seduced by the strong appeal of the marketing done by publishers. Instead, it is necessary to analyze English as a Foreign Language and/or Second Language (EFL/ESL) pronunciation teaching sotware programs as to their potential for developing English pronunciation. here is an unquestionable need to analyze these programs from a critical perspective using pedagogically coherent and technically elaborated criteria (Navarro, 1999).While several studies sought to establish criteria and evaluation instruments for analyzing educational sotware programs in general, others investigated criteria and evaluation instruments for analyzing language learning sotware programs. Abstract:This study aimed at elaborating and validating an ESL/ EFL software evaluation instrument that encompassed the principles of Communicative Language Teaching and an interactive approach to computer use for language learning. Once the instrument was elaborated, it was tested for its internal consistency and inter-item and inter-rater reliability. The results of the Pearson Coefficient and the ICC Coefficient measures indicated high levels of inter-rater reliability for the group of 26 teachers. The Cronbach's Alpha Coefficients for the three programs indicated that the ESL/EFL software evaluation instrument had adequate levels of inter-item reliability. These results suggest that the ESL/EFL software evaluation instrument has high levels of internal consistency. These results indicate that the evaluation instrument has a high degree of reliability. The positive indicators of reliability obtained from the procedures used to assess the inter-rater reliability and the internal consistency and the face and content validity attributed to the instrument suggest that the ESL/EFL software evaluation 306 Vládia M. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo avaliar de que maneira softwares educativos ensinam a pronúnciado inglês, seguindo os princípios da Abordagem Comunicativa, tendo desse modo o potencial de desenvolver apronúncia da língua inglesa. Utilizamos um instrumento de avaliação para analisarmos cinco softwaresdisponíveis no mercado. Os resultados indicaram que apenas um dos softwares obteve mais de 75% dapontuação total do instrumento. Os outros quatro softwares, apesar de apresentarem menos de três quartos dototal das características necessárias para potencialmente desenvolverem a pronúncia da língua inglesa, possuem,em maior ou menor grau, características que podem enriquecer o ensino da pronúncia do inglês.

O presente artigo é uma revisão bibliográfica dos estudos que tratam do uso da tarefa de produção de legendas fílmicas, legendagem, para o ensino e aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras (LE). Para coleta desses trabalhos, consultamos o Portal de Periódicos – CAPES/MEC, a Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD), o Google Acadêmico e o Google.com.br. Após aplicação dos critérios de seleção, obtivemos 20 pesquisas, cujos resultados indicam diversos benefícios da legendagem didática, como o aprimoramento de habilidades linguísticas em LE e a formação de uma consciência intercultural.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: estado da arte; legendagem; aprendizagem de língua estrangeira
