Large scale neighbourhood redevelopment programmes are emerging in Turkish cities which are implementing a national policy commitment to the demolition and replacement of 6 million earthquake vulnerable homes, over a period of 20 years. This phenomenon is analysed with particular references to the Istanbul Municipal District of Gaziosmanpaşa. The homes affected are mainly in poor, illegally developed, gecekondu neighbourhoods which are the legacy of the explosive postwar urbanisation. In the aftermath of the devastating 1999 Marmara earthquake, the Turkish authorities initiated the development of the legal and institutional framework for neighbourhood redevelopment which culminated in the Urban Regeneration Law of 2012. This was a controversial process which included several projects that were heavily criticised for causing displacement, dispersal and forced evictions. The case study of the ongoing redevelopment of the Sarıgöl neighbourhood identifies the processes which continue to generate these negative outcomes and sustained opposition from residents, professional bodies and academics.
Dünya genelinde yayılan covid-19 pandemisi için Türkiye’de de çeşitli kısıtlamalar uygulanmış ve uzaktan (çevrimiçi) eğitime geçilmiştir. Bu süre zarfında gerek eğitim-öğretimin çevrimiçi olarak sürdürülmesine ilişkin, gerekse eğitimin mevcut ilköğretim yapılarında kısmi olarak devam etmesine ilişkin önemli soru ve sorunlar ortaya çıkmıştır. İlköğretim yapıları da bu süre zarfında atıl durumda kalmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı pandemi ve post-pandemi sürecinde Türkiye’de var olan ilköğretim yapılarının sağlıklı ve güvenli bir şekilde kullanılmasına yönelik tasarım önerileri sunmaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışmada ilköğretim yapılarında var olan sıra, masa, dolap, kapı vb. düzenler kullanılmış, çabuk ve kolay uygulanabilen, ekonomik, bulaş riskini minimuma indirgeyen, öğrencilerin antropometrik ölçülerine ve yaşlarına göre sosyal gelişimini dikkate alan tasarım önerileri getirilmiştir. Çalışma; analiz, örnek araştırma, literatür taraması ve ilgili yönetmeliklerin/kılavuzların incelendiği hazırlık ve önerilerin görsel olarak sunulduğu tasarım süreçlerinden oluşmaktadır.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PERSPECTIVE DRAWING PERFORMANCE AND LEARNING STYLES OF ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS
AbstractThis paper investigates the relationship between the learning styles and perspective drawing performance of the students enrolled in the Architectural Perspective course in the Department of Architecture of Istanbul Kultur University. For this purpose, Kolb's Learning Style Inventory was used to identify the learning styles of 11 students taking the course. It was found that 3 of the students were accomodators, 3 of the students were divergers, 2 of the students were convergers and 3 of the students were assimilators. Drawings obtained from a workshop conducted afterwards were analyzed and compared with the perspective drawing performance of students. Results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the perspective drawing performance and learning styles of students.
