The family is the main and first education to shape the good and bad of the human person. The family plays a role in shaping the attitude and personality patterns of children. Proverbs 22:6 teaches parents to teach wisdom to their children. Based on the text, the researcher describes the role of the family in the formation of children's character. With descriptive analysis, the researcher exposes Proverbs 22:6 so that the principles of education in the family are found. The conclusion of this study is that parents carry out the duties and responsibilities of children's education by providing attention and care, providing time together, fulfilling physical needs, and fulfilling spiritual needs. With a good education in the family, it is expected that children have good character and live in fear of God.Keluarga merupakan pendidikan utama dan pertama untuk membentuk baik buruknya pribadi manusia. Keluarga berperan dalam membentuk pola sikap dan pribadi anak. Amsal 22:6 mengajarkan kepada orang tua untuk mengajarkan hikmat kepada anak-anak. Berdasarkan nas tersebut peneliti mendeskripsikan peranan keluarga dalam pembentukan karakter anak. Dengan analisis deskriptif peneliti mengeksposisi Amsal 22:6 sehingga ditemukan prinsip-prinsip pendidikan dalam keluarga. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah orang tua mengemban tugas dan tanggung jawab pendidikan anak dengan cara memberikan perhatian dan perawatan, menyediakan waktu bersama, mencukupkan kebutuhan jasmani, dan mencukupkan kebutuhan rohani. Dengan pendidikan yang baik dalam keluarga, diharapkan anak memiliki karakter yang baik dan hidup takut akan Tuhan.
