Abstract. Smartphone usage is growing among teenagers especially junior high school students, these phenomenon cause a variety of changes in attitudes and behavior among teenagers themselves. One of smartphone strength compare to another mobile phone is the number of available features which make the smartphone has an appeal. This article used a qualitative approach seeks to look, observe, explore and experience the informant awareness regarding the use of a smartphone as a phenomenon. Aiming to gain an understanding and describe the reality regarding construction of meaning process as an adolescent self-concept. Phenomenological approach assumes, a phenomenon is an absorbed consciously experience, involving motif that seeks to examine individual consciousness based on its experience. Results of the study revealed that the use of smartphones by teenagers considered to always be able to express themselves through the features found in their smartphones. Their motives in using smartphones are to socialize, mingle, insightful, self-existence, to facilitate communication, and considered themselves to be an easy going person. Ini menimbulkan berbagai macam perubahan sikap dan perilaku di kalangan remaja itu sendiri. Salah satu fitur yang menjadi kelebihan smartphone dari handphone-handphone lainnya adalah banyaknya fitur yang tersedia membuat smartphone memiliki daya tarik. Tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, berupaya melihat, mengamati, mengeksplorasi pengalaman dan kesadaran informan melalui penggunaan smartphone sebagai suatu fenomena. Bertujuan memperoleh pemahaman dan menggambarkan realitas proses konstruksi makna sebagai konsep diri remaja. Pendekatan fenomenologi mengasumsikan, fenomena adalah pengalaman yang diserap secara sadar, melibatkan motif yang berupaya menelaah tentang kesadaran individu berdasarkan pengalaman yang dimilikinya. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan, penggunaan smartphone dianggap selalu bisa mengekspresikan dirinya melalui fitur-fitur yang terdapat dalam smartphone. Motif mereka menggunakan smartphone, antara lain, untuk sosialisasi diri, bergaul, membuka wawasan, eksistensi diri dan dapat mempermudah berkomunikasi dan dianggap sebagai orang yang mudah bergaul.Kata kunci : remaja, smartphone, konsep diri dan fenomenologi. A problem of broadcasting system in Indonesia, radio broadcasts in particular, lies in its insignificant contribution to strengthening the local identity, albeit the power of radio that is on the proximity of the media and its audiences. Local identity seems to fade away nowadays and being left behind by its community, whereas it has the power to shape the national identity, especially for young generation. This article examines a constellation of radio broadcasts in strengthening local identity. This study uses a qualitative method of case study with subject’s research of private mainstream broadcast radio in West Java. The research result finds that institutional owners have difficulties to balance commercial interests and editorial side since the radio needs to go forward in the industry and gain profits, but on the other side is "chained" by prevailing regulations and idealism. This is the reason why radio needs to advance in technology, contents, and human resources and also follows the trends. Implementation on program/content of broadcast is based on the spirit to undertake the local potential, but the change in listeners’ state demands the radio manager to transforms local culture in such a way to be accepted by those listeners. Contents are focused on values and characters, while the packaging remains the present. The dominance of media conglomeration in broadcasting industry hampered the development of local radio.
Tourism is a critical sector for national, regional, and rural development, providing job opportunities and increasing income for communities, governments, and private sectors. The success of tourism development requires integrated marketing communications that showcase the natural and socio-economic potential of the region, including its tourist attractions. This study examines the marketing communications strategy of Ecoethno Leadcampsite, a camping ground-based tourist spot in Pangalengan, Bandung Regency, West Java Province. The study used a qualitative case study method with data collected through direct observation, interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and documentation. The results reveal that Ecoethno Leadcampsite's marketing communications strategy for tourism development is successful in establishing public relations by empowering the surrounding community to become partners, direct marketing, personal selling, and sales promotion with Word of Mouth to fellow tourists and partners, including the use of social media. The study also suggests that Ecoethno Leadcampsite can increase collaboration with educational institutions by developing educational-based tourism or tourism locations in nature conservation, socio-economic, culture, and character building that is creative, productive, and innovative.
Efforts to develop businesses organized by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises have the full support of the government, private institutions, universities, and other institutions. The program implemented by the government is to improve the competitiveness of business actors. One of the business actors running the program is the Home Industry Group at the Sabilulungan Farmers Market Association, which is under the auspices of the Bandung District, West Java Agricultural Service. Various products are produced by members of the group in the form of vegetables, fruits, processed foods, etc. The research objective is to analyse group members' understanding of the application of personal selling including interpersonal communication in building relationships with consumers and presentations for marketing products. The research method is descriptive to measure research phenomena. Data collection was carried out by distributing research questionnaires to participants as many as 32 people. The sampling technique is census, because all members of the group become research respondents. The results showed group members had high knowledge about interpersonal communication in personal selling activities to build relationships with consumers, group member knowledge about presentations was also high, and group members could apply presentations to market products.
