This research was aimed to develop an Intructional design in teaching procedural text using project based learning. The instructional design assisted for teaching writing for ninth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak. This research applied development research and ADD procedure. On the analysis stage the researcher found the fundamental problems and needs of the students as well as the teacher expectation of writing material. On the designing and developing stage, the researcher collected the sources that needed and developed the instructional design. After the product assessed by the material expert, the instructional design considered as valid and applicable to use. The researcher hope that, this product can be applied in the classroom. As for the future research, the researcher suggested to conduct the instructional design based on the needs of the students. Drawing a clear design is needed to lead a good development of product.
The objective of this study is to discover the effect of Personal Vocabulary Note (PVN) on the students vocabulary achievement. This form of research is a pre-experimental study. The research population on this research was the eighth-grade students that consisted of 43 students of SMP Negeri 1 Mempawah Timur. By using cluster random sampling, the sample was VIII B class, consisted of 21 students. The data on this study was gathered through a written test in form of multiple choice. The data showed that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, means that Personal Vocabulary Note (PVN) affect significantly in teaching vocabulary for the eighth-grade students in SMP Negeri 1 Mempawah Timur. The result of t-test was 12.61. It was higher than t-critical(12.61 > 2.086). Finding also showed that the score of the effect size of the treatment was 2.73 and categorized as strong effect. It can be concluded that Personal Vocabulary Note (PVN) give a strong effect on vocabulary achievement of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Mempawah Timur in Academic Year 2019/2020.
Acceptance of information technology changes the paradigm through the internet network used on smartphones. The results of observations at SMKN 7 Malang with teachers of basic graphic design subject in class during the COVID-19 pandemic which were held remotely through their respective homes, that the use of conventional models and PowerPoint media used by teachers is less easy to explain basic lessons graphic design, the PowerPoint produced through the material presented are difficult to accept, and the use of media in learning activities that is not maximized to be able to motivate students to improve learning outcomes. This study aims to design interactive learning media based on graphic design with creative problem-solving content in improving student learning outcomes in class X TKJ. This study uses the ADDIE development research model and Waterfall. The test subjects of this study included material experts, media experts, and X TKJ students in SMKN 7 Malang. From the results of development research, this interactive learning media obtained an average score of media experts with a value of 92.78 percent and material experts with a value of 82.97 percent. Then from the small group trial with a value of 91.20 percent, and from the large group trial with a value of 80.37 percent. The effectiveness of the product is evidenced by the student’s final post-test scores. In conclusion, creative problem-solving learning media content that was developed is very appropriate and effective for use in student learning activities at SMKN 7 Malang.
During this pandemic of Covid 19, learning face to face took a different turn. The higher institutions were obligated to resort to online learning. Academicians and undergraduates had to 'jump on the bandwagon and be ready without thorough preparation. The main aim of this study was to find out the Malaysian and Indonesian undergraduate students' (SLL) perceptions and behaviors related to self-access language learning. An online survey was conducted to collect the information from online and online distance learning students. A structural questionnaire link using survey monkey was sent to students through WhatsApp. The simple percentage distribution was used to assess the learning status of the study participants. From the study, results yielded that 70% of learners were involved in online and online distance learning actively. Most learners used smartphones during their online learning. Students face various problems related to depression anxiety, poor internet connectivity, and an unfavorable study environment at home. Students from remote areas and marginalized sections mainly face enormous challenges for study during this pandemic. This study suggests targeted interventions to create a positive space for study among students from the vulnerable section of society.
The purpose of this research is to know whether What Comes Next technique affected significantly on learners action verbs achievement and to know the effect size of the technique. The form of this research is pre-experimental study with one group pretest and posttest design. The population was all the eleventh grade learners of SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak. By using cluster random sampling technique, the sample was XI Science 6 class consisted of 33 learners. The data collection technique was measurement technique and the tool of data collection was a test consisted of 25 items in the form of multiple choice. The result of the T-test was 12.25. It was higher than t-critical score (12.25 > 2.03). This indicated that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, meaning that What Comes Next Technique affect significantly in teaching vocabulary for the eleventh grade learners in SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak in the academic year of 2019/2020. The score of the effect size of the treatment was 2.08 and classed as Strong effect. As a result, it can be concluded that What Comes Next Technique give a strong effect in teaching vocabulary for the eleventh grade learners in SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak in the academic year of 2019/2020.
