One of the stakeholders in the tourism sector is the Indonesian Tour Guide Association (HPI). Tour guide activities, including communication activities carried out between HPI members in introducing tourism areas. In the digital era and the new normal era, the need to use various communication media such as social media has a very high role. The research objectives are; 1) analyze the influence of social media activities at HPI in promoting the Lake Toba tourism area; 2) analyze the factors that influence the promotion of the Lake Toba tourism area. This research uses quantitative research methods with research locations in North Sumatra. Gradual sampling technique (multi-step random sampling). The sample size was determined as many as 60 HPI members from a total population of 114 HPI members. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observing HPI members' social media and discussions with HPI management. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics in the form of a regression test.The results of the study show that in general HPI members access Facebook, WhatsApp, Youtube and Instagram social media. Apart from social media, another medium used by HPI in promoting Lake Toba tourism is using group communication. Regression analysis shows that there is an influence of social media activity on tourism promotion in the Lake Toba area.
The massive information on various social media platforms, particularly Instagram, frequently shows the euphoria or attractiveness of young marriages by influencers who may have privileges that may be different from the followers. This study focuses on two primary issues, namely: the background of young marriage among influencers and the youth’s view on the young marriage trend among influencers. This study aims to discover the reasons of young marriages performed by influencer and learn about the youth’s view on the trend of young marriage influencers on social media Instagram. This study uses the basics of mass communication, computer mediated communication theory, new media, symbolic interaction and social reality construction. This study uses a qualitative approach with case study. Data collection techniques are conducted in-depth interviews and the object of research is the content of young marriage influencers and the subjects in this study are young people and influencers. The results of the study show that influencers conducting young marriages are based on the desire to have children quickly, the freedom and the desire to learn responsibility. The youth’s view on influencer young marriage constructs expectations of freedom, romance and happiness of young marriage so that many young people are encouraged to do young marriages that are motivated by influencers and the neighbors.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Implementasi digital Public Relations pada label music Demajors dalam mempublikasikan album kepada khalayak. Metodologi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan konsep public relations, digital public relations dengan pendekatan kualitatif, paradigma yang digunakan post positivisme serta pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam, studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Sebagai label music independent Demajors dalam hal ini divisi Promotion & Media Relations berhasil menyampaikan pesan ke khalayak dengan menggunakan media sosial (new media) sehingga mampu bersaing dengan label mainstream. Kegiatan publikasi dilakukan dengan merujuk pada segmentasi musik yang sesuai dengan karakter musiknya. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa digital public relations menjadi tool yang tepat untuk mempublikasikan album kepada khlayak yang sekaligus menjadi pembeda dengan label musik independen yang ada di Indonesia.Kata Kunci: implementasi, digital public relations, demajors
This research aims to examine the effect of Transformational Leadership and Organizational Commitment on Employee Performance as well as the mediating effect of Organizational Commitment between Transformational Leadership on affecting Employee Performance in non-star hotels in Medan (North Sumatra) during the “New Normal” period. This is a survey research, using all employees who work in two non-star hotels in the city of Medan (North Sumatra) as research sample, totaling 60 Employees. The results are described descriptively in which were processed using SPSS version 23.0. The mediation variable test was carried out using the Sobel Test with significance level of p <.05. The results showed that there is a positive and significant direct effect of Transformational Leadership and Organizational Commitment on Employee Performance partially. Similarly, simultaneously there is an indirect effect of Transformational Leadership on Employee Performance mediated by Organizational Commitment or in other words Organizational Commitment is able to mediate the effect of Transformational Leadership on Employee Performance. The results of this study prove that the conceptions of Transformational Leadership and Organizational Commitment are still relevant today and also contribute to improve employee performance in the hotel industry in Indonesia, especially non-star hotels in Medan (North Sumatra) in New Normal period. Thus we purpose further research to be conducted to examine worker commitments trough factor analysis approach.
