In the beginning of the fourth industrial revolution, competition in acquiring and retaining best talents in concert with talents' unfamiliarity of what they will face and obtain in the course of working at a company are two major problems. It is essential for a company to make its employees satisfied and pleased with their jobs. These very satisfaction and pleasure are hoped to serve as a key for motivating employees to perform and contribute their best for the company. Numerous research studies have proven the positive effect of work well-being on job performance, but the findings came with inconsistencies and controversies. This fact has caused reluctance in a good many companies to invest in their employees' work well-being. A survey of 509 millennial employees in the Indonesian startup digital industry was conducted in this research. The results show that employee's work well-being had a significant, positive effect on job performance. Theoretically, this research has contributed in responding to inconsistencies in literature. It is hoped that this research will also offer practical contribution to individual employees as well as human resources department and increase company executives' confidence in making organization-related strategic decisions to attain sustainable performance. Finally, we propose a number of intervention suggestions for performance improvement through work well-being.
The energy transition which is taking place to cause sustainability in the electricity system has become one of the highest priorities discussed globally. The background of the paper was aimed to explore the concept of value co-creation in supporting sustainability in the context of the electricity system expert’s role. The paper qualitatively analyzed the opinions of selected experts to voice their co-creation thought in supporting sustainability. With the main focus on the social, economic, and environmental aspects as the triple-bottom-line (TBL) of sustainability as value, the discussion considered co-creation in collaboration activities in the domain of the national electricity system. The main issues were illustrated using qualitative study data from an in-depth interview and focus group discussion. The results show that there is a lack of connectedness of thought to utilize collaborative thinking as a shared resource. This creates a gap in thinking to complement reciprocal. The paper expresses its contribution as a conceptual model from the stakeholders and resources view that provides benefits for the transition to sustainability in the electricity sector. Further research will complement the role of experts in providing empirically confirmed uses.
Previous studies have shown the rate of domestic violence towards women in Indonesia is increasing. Researches in the field have found that one of the most effective ways to prevent the violence was the bystander. To understand the characteristics of bystander in the sample of teenager in Indonesia, this study seeks to determine the relationship between efficacy and Decisional Balance and likelihood to intervene. The result showed that there is a significant correlation between bystander efficacy and tendency to intervene, yet no empirical support for Decisional Balance.
