Since receptors for both male and female sex hormones are present in human corneas of both genders, we postulate that the receptors may influence the biological functions of corneal cells through direct interaction with specific hormones.

Paclitaxel is unusual in that it accumulates especially in cancer cells and induces apoptosis for 1 week in vivo and in vitro. On the other hand, paclitaxel could not be detected in cancer tissues after 2 weeks. The administration of paclitaxel on a weekly schedule, rather than the standard every-3-week schedule, might produce greater tumor-cell death.

ERRalpha is expressed in human endometrial cancer tissues and cell lines and suppresses ERE-dependent transcriptional activity in the presence of estrogen. ERRalpha modulates estrogen-induced activity in estrogen-dependent endometrial cancer.
