Stark widths for 18 Zr Iv spectral lines have been calculated by using the modified semiempirical method. The obtained results have been used to investigate the influence of Stark broadening on the spectra of atmospheres of chemically peculiar stars of A spectral type and hydrogen-rich DA and helium-rich DB white dwarfs. Our results have been used also to test possibility to predict new data using some approximate methods developed on the basis on regularities and systematic trends.
AbstractStark Full Widths at Half Maximum for 46 Co II multiplets have been calculated using modified semiempirical method. The obtained results have been used to demonstrate the importance of Stark broadening mechanism in DA and DB white dwarf and A star atmospheres. With the obtained results we also test possibility of using some approximate methods of Stark width calculations developed on the basis of regularities and systematic trends.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
