This study aimed at exploring the relationship between organizational justice and job satisfaction as perceived by Jordanian physical education teachers. Participants consisted of 166 physical education teachers selected from public schools in Jordan. Organizational Justice Scale and Job in General Scale were used to collect the data. The findings revealed that the majority of physical education teachers were satisfied with their job in general and their perceptions about organizational justice were positive. Furthermore, the findings showed a positive and significant relationship between all dimensions of organizational justice and teachers' job satisfaction. Interactional justice was the best predictor of teachers' job satisfaction followed by procedural justice and distributive justice respectively. The full prediction model explained 19% of the variance in job satisfaction of physical education teachers in Jordan.
The present research examined the relationship between coaches' leadership behaviors and levels of burnout experienced by college athletes in Jordan. A sample of 162 male and female college athletes completed a modified version of the Leadership Scale for Sports (LSS; Chelladurai & Saleh, 1980), and the Athlete Burnout Questionnaire (ABQ; Raedeke & Smith, 2001). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson productmoment correlation coefficients, and stepwise regression. The results of this study revealed that there was a significant relationship between coaches' leadership behaviors and athlete burnout. Athletes who perceived their coaches as providing more training and instruction and exhibiting more democratic behavior and less autocratic behavior were less burned out.
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of transformational leadership behaviors on team cohesion as perceived by female football players in Jordan. Sixty-one football players were surveyed using a translated version of the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (Avolio & Bass, 2004) and Team Cohesion Questionnaire (Allawi, 1998). The results indicated that football players perceived their coaches to display high levels of transformational leadership. They also reported high levels of team cohesion. In addition, the results showed a positive relationship between coaches' leadership behaviors and team cohesion. Perceived leadership behaviors of idealized influence and intellectual stimulation were significant predictors of team cohesion and accounted for 22% of the variance in team cohesion.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between deansʼ' transformational leadership styles and organizational culture as perceived by faculty members and teaching assistants in colleges of physical education in Jordan.Seventy two faculty members and teaching assistants participated in this study. Data were collected using a modified version of the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ; Bass & Avolio, 1995), and the Organizational Culture Assessment Questionnaire (OCAQ; Sashkin, 1990).The findings of the study indicated that transformational leadership behaviors were moderately practiced in colleges of physical education. The results also showed a significant correlation between transformational leadership styles and institution culture. Perceived leadership behavior of intellectual stimulation was found to be the most important contributor to the institution culture. Furthermore, the findings showed that "coordinating teamwork" was the most affected organizational cultural function by the deanʼ' s transformational leadership behaviors defined by the overall MLQ score.
