Indonesia is experiencing a stable and rapid Islamic economy process since the emergence of Islamic banking. Asides from the development, some scholars argued that Islamic banking does not completely comply with primary Islamic obligations, such as ethics. The use of sharia banking is preferred in Indonesia, even though it only upholds one foundation in Islamic teaching. Therefore, it is imperative to present Islamic banking's ethical foundations with strong support from early teachings and test it empirically. This research presents several original concepts of Islamic ethics in the form of prophetic messages and teaching of Muhammad (peace be upon him), namely Iman (faith), Niyyah (intention), Amanah (trust), and 'Adalah (justice). The confirmatory composite analysis (CCA) was used to assess the four terms to 411 Islamic banking employees in the Indonesian context. The result showed that salient points in measuring employee ethics need to be ethical in all circumstances. This movement tends to positively provide a multiplier effect in the banking management and potentially serve as the educational function to the communities.
This study investigates Moslem taxpayers' behavior in relation to the concept of Islam, the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and cognitive social theory (CST). Tax is an important issue for the country's development. It is an obligation for its citizens to pay taxes. Therefore, The taxpayers' behavior is one of selfassessment for Moslems in fulfilling their responsibility as good citizenships. The study used data obtained from purposive sampling of taxpayers in all Malaysian states (N=285). Findings showed that taxpayer compliance behavior is directly determined by its intention (niyyah). In the meanwhile, findings showed that morale (akhlaq), subjective norms and tax behavior control did not affect tax compliance behavior directly. This result indicated that the behavior of taxpayers is always influenced by the concept of Islamic thinking, which is, behavior is determined by its intention (niyyah). A sincere and right intention (niyyah) will guide taxpayers to real action. These concrete actions will bring benefits to themselves, others and especially to state development. Intention (niyyah) is determined by morale (akhlaq) and control of tax behavior. These findings represent that individuals in the intention (niyyah) of tax behavior will be influenced by the condition of their soul. Morale (akhlaq)are representations of Islamic values. Morale (akhlaq) will be formed in the soul of a Muslim if there is a balance of the power of science, the power of controlling lust and lust that has been educated by religion and minds.
This article aims to overview some hadith[s] concerning justice and equality among wives in the practice of polygamy. This is literature-based research. In this study, documentation technique was employed in order to collect the data and used takhrij al-Hadith approach. Then, they were analysed by using descriptive analysis method. The result reveals that polygamy might be allowed in certain conditions, especially when a husband could be just and equal in a household among his wives. Practically, this requirement is somewhat challenging. Besides faith and obedience, justice and equality in a family can only be achieved if there is a high optimism, strong confidence, and good paradigm. Although some wives consider it as ‘ain al-sukhty (hatred paradigm), others percieve it as ‘ain al-ridha (pleased paradigm). Unfortunately, to overcome this problematic matter for polygamists in the recent day, justice and equality as the key points in a household should realistically be understood well as what the Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him (PBUH) had practiced. A positive atmosphere is likely possible to realize in a polygamous household.
