Since the emergence of the global COVID-19 pandemic, faith-based philanthropic activities have become widely attractive topics to be investigated. Yet, there has been little exploration related to gender issues. This study examined faith-based women’s engagement in dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak and its impacts focusing on a local context in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. Notably, the investigation aimed to explore the extent to which Aisyiyah's philanthropy in addressing the global issue. To achieve the purpose of the study, it carried out a qualitative method incorporating three data collection techniques: semi-structured interview involving 17 informants; participant observation focused on Aisyiyah’s programs conducted to overcome the COVID-19; and a desk study gained from documents, reports, media (and social media) such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels. The result delineates that while some scholars divide two paradigms of community engagement which are utilitarian and social justice, Aisyiyah in Sidoarjo has played vital contributions oriented toward social justice. This approach has been done through various programs; public awareness building, embracing the COVID-19 patients, and enhancing social solidarity to reduce the outbreak effects. These findings contribute to filling the literature gap on religious-based women's philanthropy in dealing with the pandemic. However, it is critical to explore the extent to which Aisyiyah's commitment to humanitarian activities for a long-term period since no one can even predict when it will end. Another pivotal issue that needs further investigation is Aisyiyah’s way in mobilizing social capital to support its philanthropic activities.
Abstrak: Pelatihan pemanfaatan sampah anorganik dilaksanakan pada salah satu sekolah dasar MI di Kecamatan Tanggulangin, Kabupaten Sidoarjo dengan menggandeng Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kebersihan Kabupaten Sidoarjo sebagai simulasi kewirausahan anak dikarenakan belum pernah adanya edukasi dan pelatihan serupa di MI. Tujuan kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah: (1) meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam pemanfaatan sampah organik di sekolah; dan (2) meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam pemanfaatan sampah organik sebagai simulasi kewirausahaan. Pelatihan ini dibagi menjadi dua tahapan, yakni sosialisasi jenis-jenis sampah beserta cara pengolahannya dan pelatihan pengolahan sampah anorganik seperti bungkus kopi instan menjadi barang yang bernilai ekonomis dan berguna. Hasil dari kegiatan abdimas ini antara lain: (1) meningkatnya pemahaman siswa MI dalam pemanfaatan dan pengolahan sampah anorganik dengan perolehan rata-rata skor pretest 40% (55,5) dan skor postest 60% (85); dan (2) meningkatnya pengetahuan siswa terkait pentingnya mengolah kembali sampah anorganik sebagai salah satu pencegahan permasalahan lingkungan dengan capaian jumlah skor 500 (Kelompok 1 dan 5), 490 (Kelompok 2 dan 4), dan 485 (Kelompok 3).Abstract: The training on the use of inorganic waste was carried out at one of the MI elementary schools in Tanggulangin District, Sidoarjo Regency by cooperating with the Sidoarjo Regency Environment and Hygiene Service as a simulation of child entrepreneurship because there had never been such education and training in MI. The objectives of this training activity are: (1) to increase students' understanding of the use of organic waste in schools; and (2) improving students' skills in the use of organic waste as a simulation of entrepreneurship. This training is divided into two stages, namely the socialization of the types of waste and how to process them and training on the processing of inorganic waste such as instant coffee packs into items of economic value and usefulness. The results of this community service activity include: (1) increasing the understanding of MI students in the utilization and processing of inorganic waste with an average pretest score of 40% (55.5) and a posttest score of 60% (85); and (2) increasing students' knowledge regarding the importance of reprocessing inorganic waste as one of the prevention of environmental problems with total scores of 500 (Groups 1 and 5), 490 (Groups 2 and 4), and 485 (Groups 3).
The role of students is needed to improve student learning outcomes, in this case the students are expected to be able to manage or manage himself. This study aims to prove the difference between problem-based learning model and lecture learning. In addition, it also proves that the use of Problem-Based learning model and lecture learning in children who have high regulation and children who have low regulation of the results of learning Civics and to prove the interaction of the implementation of Learning and self-regulation affect the results of learning Civics class V in MI Muhammadiyah district Sidoarjo. The results of this study indicate 1. There are differences in the results of learning PKN class V by using Problem-Based Learning Model with the use of Lecture Learning in MI MuhammadiyahSidoarjo district; 2. There are differences in the results of Civics learning in grade V children who have high self-regulation and children who have low regulation; 3. There is an interaction of the application of learning and Self Regulation has an effect on the learning result of VII C grade in MI Muhammadiyah of Sidoarjo Regency.
ABSTRAKPelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru SD Muhammadiyah 5 Porong dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis digital yang diprakarsai oleh Fakultas Psikologi dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo sebagai wujud kegiatan abdimas (pengabdian masyarakat) dosen. Rincian kegiatan yang telah diberikan terdiri dari dua materi pelatihan, yaitu pengembangan menggunakan aplikasi Canva. Hasil yang didapat pada pelatihan materi pertama, yaitu sejumlah 39% saja yang aktif menyusun media pembelajaran. Selanjutnya, pada kegiatan evaluasi, sudah menempuh 55% yang sudah menghasilkan produk. Selain itu, kegiatan evaluasi tugas juga dilaksanakan sebagai bentuk Kegiatan pendampingan. Selanjutnya yang akan dilaksanakan adalah penambahan tugas dan pendampingan rutin sehingga terdapat produk video pembelajaran yang layak diunggah pada Youtube Chanel sekolah. Pembelajaran bermakna dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran yang sesuai, serta media metode maupun strategi yang tepat. Melalui model, strategi dan metode serta media yang tepat dapat mendukung keberasilan proses belajar mengajar pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan yang dilakukan oleh guru dan siswa. Namun, berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan di SDN 1 Jemundo Taman PBM masih bersifat konvensional dan bersifat teacher center. sehingga guru dalam hal ini harus inovatif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dikelas, seperti mengembangkan media pembelajaran. Salah satu media pembelajaran yang men arik dan mengatasi kejenuhan dan kepasifan siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, khususnya pada PKn yaitu kegiatan pembelajaran melalui model Teams Games Tournament dengan media monopoli. Penelitian ini adalah jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, Dalam pengambilan dan pengumpulan data dilakukan metode Tes dengan Uji Validitas dan uji reliabilitas serta menggunakan Metode observasi, Penelitian Tindak Kelas (PTK) pada siswa kelas IV SDN 01 Jemundo Taman tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahapan yaitu (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) pengamatan dan (4) refleksi. Berdasarkan pembahasan dan hasil penelitian maka dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: Pembelajaran materi sistem pemerintahan pusat dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT dengan media game monopoli pada siswa kelas IV dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar PKn dengan peningkatan rata- rata dari siklus I sebesar (73,18) dan meningkat pada siklus II sebesar (76,25). Hasil penelitian ini diperkuat melalui temuan bahwa siswa sangat antusias dalam menerima materi dalam bentuk permainan kuis pada model pembelajaran TGT melalui media monopoly menjadikan mereka lebih aktif dan melatih kerja sama antar kelompok sehingga membuat pembelajaran menjadi bermakna
