The solubility of silver acetate at 25°C. in aqueous solutions containing various amounts of silver nitrate and silver perchlorate has been determined.2. The results obtained are interpreted by means of the theory of Debye and Hückel and by assuming the formation of diacetato-argentate ion and of acetatodisilver ion.3. The dissociation constants of these complex ions have been determined. 4. It is suggested that the stability of one of these ions is due to resonance. 5. The true activity product for silver acetate has been calculated. REFERENCES
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
