Introduction. In recent years, many European countries faced with a significant influx of migrants have experienced economic and social problems. Although redistribution of population is an objective process, both personal and social difficulties can be associated with territorial mobility of people. Therefore, it is important to foresee the possible negative consequences of mass migration. The purpose of this piece of research is to analyze migration flows in modern Russia and identify possible threats to economic security and social stability associated with migration. Materials and Methods. The study employed the data from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), as well as papers by scientists involved in the study of the problem considered. The systematic approach and the methods of the demographic analysis, comparative analysis, content analysis, generalization and interpretation of the results were adopted. Results. Based on official statistics and expert estimates, an analysis of the situation in the field of migration in Russia has been carried out, the main directions of population redistribution have been identified, and the need for adjusting the socio-economic policy in the regions experiencing significant migration turnover has been substantiated. A set of measures aimed at reducing the emigration of young people from Russian regions has been proposed. Discussion and Conclusion. Conclusions have been drawn about the possible increase in the negative impact of migration processes on the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation as a whole as well as that of individual regions in particular. This requires detailed study of migration processes in order to take measures to optimize migration flows and adjust socio-economic policies. The results of the study can be used by the authorities when planning and adjusting socio-economic development programs.

Materials and Methods. Data from the United Nations, Federal State Statistics Service of Russia and publications by scientists involved in the study of this problem were used as the materials for this research. The methods of demographic, economic and statistical analysis were employed. Results. The dynamics of the human potential of Russia has been characterized: in 2018, Russia first entered the group of countries with a very high level of human development. The main problems in human development in the Russian Federation have been identified: low standard of living, long-term permanent decline in real monetary incomes of Russians (2014–2018), a high degree of material inequality, low life expectancy of the population, high excess mortality of certain categories of the population, a sharp drop in the number of students enrolled in higher education programs (per 1,000). Discussion and Conclusion. In order to strengthen the human potential of Russia, it is necessary to concentrate efforts on overcoming supermortality, increasing productivity and the availability of quality education while reducing infant and maternal mortality, income inequality. The results of the study can be used by the authorities when planning and adjusting socio-economic development programs related to population management, to the organization of health care and education, and the fight against poverty.
Introduction. Legislative consolidation of a right is not always implemented in practice. This can be fully attributed to the situation in the sphere of equality of people of different sexes in the economy, including the sphere of public administration. The purpose of the article is to assess the status of women in the economy of modern Russia, based on the study of official statistics, as well as the possibility of women’s participation in solving key problems of the development of society through representation in public authorities at different levels of government. Materials and Methods. The author analyzed data from Russian Federal State Statistics Service, publications of scientists involved in the study of the issue concerned, as well as materials from authoritative international organizations. The systemic approach, analysis and synthesis, the monographic method, content analysis, as well as the employed methods of economic and statistical analysis made it possible to identify the main trends in the changing status of women in the Russian labor market and public authorities at different levels of government. Results. The status of women in the Russian labor market and public authorities at the federal, regional and municipal levels has been characterized. Violation of the rights of women has been established in terms of remuneration when filling the same positions as men with equal amount of working time. It has been revealed that the representation of women in the highest bodies of state power lags behind the benchmark level of 30 %, proclaimed by the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing and supported by the Russian Federation. Discussion and Conclusion. A conclusion has been drawn that women are underrepresented in senior government positions in the Russian Federation. In the Russian labor market, violation of women's rights is manifested in lower wages, despite higher overall level of education of women. The results may prove useful when conducting research in the field of gender equality, as well as when developing and implementing measures aimed at improving the status of women in the country's economy and ensuring their right to participate in making decisions important for the society.
