A microfluidic system with volume sensor and dielectric glucose sensor for continuous glucose monitoring

Abstract: We present a microfluidic system for interstitial fluid (ISF) transdermal extraction, ISF volume measurement, and dielectric glucose sensing towards the application of continuous glucose monitoring. This device significantly incorporates a MEMS volume sensor, which measures extracted ISF volume via conductance monitoring, and integrates a MEMS dielectric glucose sensor, which specifically measures glucose concentrations in the transdermally extracted ISF via affinity binding.
