A multi-method for defining the organizational change

Abstract: The assumption of the work presented in this paper is the situatedness of the change process. The Enterprise Knowledge Development -Change Management Method (EKD-CMM) provides multiple and dynamically constructed ways of working to organize and to guide the change management. The method is built on the notion of labeled graph of intentions and strategies called a road map and the associated guidelines. The EKD-CMM road map is a navigational structure that supports the dynamic selection of the intention to be a… Show more

“…On the other hand, some other methods not defined in the reengineering context, tackle with some of those activities, among them we mention [7], [8], [10], [11], [16], [17], [19], [24], [28]. Therefore, we may consider that changes on ISs are all part of a reengineering activity, which supports our claim of IS development being treatable similarly to IS reengineering.…”

“…Once the initial set of method chunks are identified, we apply again the Approach for Method Reengineering [28] to analyse more reengineering methods in order to obtain a generalization of the process. The undertaken review includes the methods used in the definition of PRiM (now studied from a Method Reengineering perspective) [2], [20]; business process reengineering methods [1], [24]; architecture reengineering methods [3], [21]; and platform reengineering methods [4], [32]. As a result, we obtain the method chunks of these processes.…”

“…The model of concepts is used to define and clarify terms and phenomena presented in other models (Bubenko et al, 2001). Nurcan & Rolland (2003) have developed an adaptation of EKD called Enterprise Knowledge development -Change Management Method (EKD-CMM). This method is based on four main phases, schematically represented in Figure 2.…”

“…Sendo o modelo designado "Modelo para Ser" (To-Be Model). Deste modo, nota-se que para auxiliar na orientação da gestão de mudança dos processos organizacionais com base no conhecimento existente da organização, é possível utilizar a metodologia EKD e EKD-CMM, para propor e realizar o processo de mudança organizacional (NURCAN; ROLLAND, 2003;GROSZ, 2000).…”
