ANALISIS KANDUNGAN VITAMIN C DAN β- KAROTEN DALAM DAUN KELOR (Moringa oleifra Lam.) DENGAN METODE SPEKTROFOTOMETRI UV–VIS

Abstract: This research aimed to analyze the levels of vitamin C and β-carotene in Moringa leaves extract (Moringa oleifera Lam.) using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Vitamin C on Moringa leaves are extracted with ethanol 96%. The extracts obtained was qualitatively analyzed of levels of vitamin C using specific reagents an iodine 1% and ammonium molybdate 5%. Than quantitatively using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at wavelength of 570 nm, obtained an verage grade of 7,96 mg/g. For β-carotene, Moringa leaves were extracted with a… Show more

“…According to Werdhasari (2014), antioxidants from natural ingredients are obtained from active ingredients such as vitamin C, vitamin E, provitamin A, organosulfur, and flavonoids. The most nutritious moringa plant content is the antioxidants, especially in the leaves that contain high antioxidants such as i a i E α-tocopherol) 104 mg/100 g (Mubarak et al, 2017) vitamin C 203.1 mg.100 g-1 DM (Lalas et al, 2017), and vitamin A around 3.31 mg/g (Tahir et al, 2016). The difference in antioxidant activity and total phenol content is due to antioxidant compounds, including polyphenols found in moringa leaves.…”
