The plant Laxmitaru (Simarouba glacuoa) is a fruit-bearing deciduous shrub that belongs to the Family – Simaroubeaceae native from the areas of the Himalayas in Northern India, cultivated all over the Mediterranean region from ancient times. The method development and quantitative analysis of quassionoids in laxmitaru leaves are developed using the solvent system Toluene: Ethyl acetate: Formic acid in the ratio (7: 2: 1 v/v/v) and the method is successfully developed. The punicalagin is quantified at 257 nm, Rf value =1.8. The content found in the various samples in M1 is 440.8µg, in M2 is 472.4 µg , in M3 is 458.8 µg and for in-house is 456.8 µg of quassionoids from 1 g of each sample. The developed method was validated according to ICH guidelines Q2R2.
