Cancer‑related long noncoding RNAs show aberrant expression profiles and competing endogenous RNA potential in esophageal adenocarcinoma

Abstract: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) govern gene expression by competitively binding to microRNA response elements (MREs). Although they were initially considered as transcriptional noise, lncRNAs have attracted increased attention in oncology. Dysregulation of lncRNAs occurs in various types of human tumor, including esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC). However, the functions of these cancer-associated lncRNAs and of their related competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network in EAC remains unknown. To determine the relev… Show more

“…From a mechanistic perspective, DLEU7-AS1 is considered to modulate the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in CRC cells, which influences the ability of these cells to proliferate and invade proximal or distal tissues ( 63 ). GK-IT1 has been reported to be positively associated with overall survival in patients with esophageal adenocarcinoma ( 64 ).…”

“…Notably, it was believed that cancer-related lncRNAs may be helpful for researchers to understand the mechanism of cancer progression and develop e cient measures to improve the prognosis [24]. And cancer-related lncRNAs have been described in some cancer types, such as esophageal adenocarcinoma [25] and prostate cancer [26]. In the present study, we obtained 1872 caner-related lncRNAs through integrating Immlnc and TCGA databases and screened 367 signi cant DECRLs in pRCC.…”

“…Yu Y et.al (35) pointed out that the relationship between autophagy genes and esophageal adenocarcinoma is related to the corresponding LncRNA expression. JPX is the most abundant LncRNA in the human genome, and the study of its mechanism with JPX in LncRNA is largely unknown.…”
