“…Thin film CdS-CdTe photovoltaic devices are leading technology for high efficiency, and low cost solar modules. Many studies and technical characterization [1]- [5] have been done to control solar cells parameters degradation and maximize the efficiency of energy conversion. In order to reduce the bulk recombination and the cost of solar cells manufacturing for optimal performance, a research in n-CdS/p-CdTe thin films has been started [6].…”

“…CdS thin films are subjected to chloride treatment (Cl treatment) prior to CdTe growth to decrease their optical absorption and increase their crystalline quality. After Cl treatment, recrystallization and increased roughness are observed in the CdS thin films (Lee and Lee, 2007;Mathew et al, 2012). CdS also becomes more resistant to Te diffusion after Cl treatment.…”

“…Thus inter-diffusion at the CdS/CdTe junction is generally considered to have an influence on the photocurrent. Experimental and theoretical studies show that mixing of CdS and CdTe reduces the amount of recombination current at the CdS/CdTe junctions and consequently increases photocurrent (Oman et al, 1995;Brus, 2012;Mathew et al, 2012).…”
