Chemical composition, antibacterial activity of essential oil and anatomical study of Chrysanthemum morifolium

Abstract: The aim of this study is to identify the chemical composition and to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of Chrysanthemum morifolium. The analysis and identification of essential oil which obtained by hydrodistilation method were realized by gaz chromatography and mass spectroscopy. The antibacterial activity was tested by using the agar diffusion test and the Gram positive and negative pathogenic bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 and Cit… Show more

“…The GC-MS analysis of essential oil also reported p-cymene (44%) as a major constituent [87]. The GC-MS of essential oil chiefly contains sesquiterpenes (68.80%), comprising α-humulene (21.06%), β-caryophyllene (19.08%), bicyclogermacrene (11.22%), germacrene B (6.29%) and germacrene D (4.01%) [88]. The major phytochemicals of C. asiatica are presented in Figure 5.…”
