Collaborative mathematics learning management: Critical thinking skills in problem solving

Abstract: <span lang="EN-US">This qualitative-ethnography study described the critical thinking skill based on indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference in solving mathematical problem. The subjects of the study were the headmaster, math teachers, and ninth grade students of a public junior high school in academic year of 2020/2021. The data were collected through observation, field notes, interview, and documentation. Triangulation of sources and technique were used to ensure the data vali… Show more

“…HOTS questions do more than improve thinking skills through complex questions HOTS requires students to think critically and see how they can solve existing problems. High early math ability is essential for students to develop critical thinking skills based on interpretation indicators (Sutama et al, 2022). In fact, students rarely think critically and have inconsistent beliefs about mathematics and the learning process (Sachdeva & Eggen, 2021).…”

“…Based on studies included in this systematic literature review, each has attributes that cannot be neglected if the goal is achieve objectives in every learning domain. For example, in the cognitive domain, it is necessary to ensure that learning activities must contain elements of problem solving and combine physical activity and sports with lessons from other subjects such as math and language (Setyaningsih et al, 2019;Sutama et al, 2022;Wawrzyniak et al, 2022). Through such cognitiveenriched, Physical education can not only benefit health and physical fitness but also for other curricular subject such as math, language, and writing.…”
