Correlation Analysis of Occupants’ Satisfaction and Safety Performance Level in Low Cost Housing

Post-occupancy evaluation (POE) is a process of evaluating the performance of a building after it has been occupied for at least several years. The authors conducted a comprehensive and critical review to provide a both qualitative and quantitative introduction of POE, including a brief introduction of the history, definition and benefits of POE, a statistical analysis of 146 POE projects since 2010, a comparison of 13 existing POE protocols, a summary of emerging research focuses, and potential future research areas. The 146 POE projects were analyzed in terms of building types, countries, purposes, methods used, and key findings. The review of 13 POE 2 protocols show the state-of-the-practice POE techniques. Apart from POE projects, the authors present emerging research topics related to the visualization of POE results, analyses of occupant survey database, and measurement of occupancy. Finally, the discussion summarizes the current condition of POE research and proposes five transitions that POE efforts should pursue: from

School is one of the places that are vulnerable to safety hazards because school penguins are dominated by children who do not have adequate safety knowledge and tend to panic easily when a disaster occurs. Therefore, the implementation of the safety system, especially for children in schools, is needed to reduce the emergence of injuries and other losses. The purpose of this study was to assess the level of satisfaction of school residents with the implementation of child safety systems. This study used a survey research. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, coming from student representatives, parents, and school representatives. The results showed that only 48.80% of school residents were satisfied with the child's safety system at school. Dissatisfaction is dominated by answers from parents' representatives, their reasons were dominated by the lack of fulfillment of school facilities/infrastructure and the unavailability of SOPs related to the safety aspects.

The scarcity of public open space has compelled urbanites to use residential rooftops as an interaction space. In Dhaka, rooftops are used for various social and recreational purposes which has extensively increased due to COVID-19 restrictions. During this period, few rooftops are used frequently while few are less occupied. Hence, the study identifies different variables that impact rooftop activities and finds correlations between them using the Pearson correlation coefficient. The study further shows the direction for accelerating the use of rooftops as an interaction space in residential buildings. Highlights for public administration, management and planning: • Rooftops represent important places of public life in Dhaka. • The variables that affect the social and recreational activities of residential rooftop space are analysed. • Statistically significant correlations were found between rooftop occupied by various services and number of activities, floor dampness and number of activities, the rooftop occupied by various services and a comfort zone with a pleasant view, parapet height and number of activities, and parapet height and safety. • The paper sets recommendations for designing and managing rooftop spaces.
