In this paper, a new memristive chaotic system is designed, analyzed, tested, and proposed. An adaptive control synchronization mechanism for both master and slave chaotic systems is also designed. The adaptive control law of this mechanism is derived based on the Lyapunov theory. A single parameter in the slave system has been assumed to be unknown. As the parameters of the master and slave are asymptotically matched, the unknown slave parameters will be identified according to the master’s parameters. The proposed system is used in a secure communication system. The achieved results prove a simple system implementation with a high security of data transmission.

The main challenge in designing a loop filter for a phase locked loop (PLL) is the physical dimensions of the passive elements used in the circuit that occupy large silicon area. In this paper, the basic features of a charge-controlled memristor are studied and the design procedures for various components of a PLL are examined. Following this, we propose a memristor-based filter design which has its resistance being replaced by a memristor in order to reduce the die area and achieve a low power consumption. We obtained a tuning range of 741-994 MHz, a stable output frequency of 1 GHz from the transfer characteristics of voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), and an improved settling time. In addition to reduced power consumption and area occupied on the chip, our design shows a high reliability over wider range of temperature variations.

This paper proposes a new 5D chaotic system with the flux-controlled memristor. The dynamics analysis of the new system can also demonstrate the hyperchaotic characteristics. The design and analysis of adaptive synchronization for the new memristor-based chaotic system and its slave system are carried out. Furthermore, the modularized circuit designs method is used in the new chaotic system circuit implementation. The Multisim simulation and the physical experiments are conducted, compared, and matched with each other which can demonstrate the existence of the attractor for the new system.
