The work explores methods and develops aids to improve a pilot flight training level using Full Flight Simulators. It examines their didactic advantages over real helicopters by implementing on-board intelligent decision support systems (IDSS). These simulation programs monitor actions of learner, find the best ways to correct errors and generate appropriate instructions. The training is carried out by reference point methods while the helicopter flight dynamics model simulates a flight and helps an instructor in parallel. Sufficiently simple and accurate model of helicopter flight dynamics was selected and tested to assess the proposed methods and aids. Our analysis introduces a functional structure of IDSS as an adaptive control system with a reference model. We further conducted a study on developing models, methods and means of automatic analysis, forecasting, optimization and correction of actions. Combining single-criteria conditional and vector optimization methods, we found out optimal flight parameters. The research findings revealed that the chosen optimization method requires too many system resources for the optimal solution to be found in a short time. The study thereby comes up with applying ANNs to solve this problem.

Degradation State Recognition of Piston Pump Based on ICEEMDAN and XGBoost

Under different degradation conditions, the complexity of natural oscillation of the piston pump will change. Given the difference of the characteristic values of the vibration signal under different degradation states, this paper presents a degradation state recognition method based on improved complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (ICEEMDAN) and eXtreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) to improve the accuracy of state recognition. Firstly, ICEEMDAN is proposed to alleviate the mode mixing phenomenon, which decomposes the vibration signal and obtain the intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) with less noise and more physical meaning, and subsequently the optimal IMF is found by using the correlation coefficient method. Then, the time domain, frequency domain, and entropy of the effective IMF are calculated, and the new characteristic values which can represent the degradation state are selected by principal component analysis (PCA) that it realizes dimension reduction. Finally, the above-mentioned characteristic indexes are used as the input of the XGBoost algorithm to achieve the recognition of the degradation state. In this paper, the vibration signals of four different degradation states are generated and analyzed through the piston pump slipper degradation experiment. By comparing the proposed method with different state recognition algorithms, it can be seen that the method based on ICEEMDAN and XGBoost is accurate and efficient, the average accuracy rate can reach more than 99%. Therefore, this method can more accurately describe the degradation state of the piston pump and has a highly practical application value.

Modelling of the Military Helicopter Operation Process in Terms of Readiness

The processes of exploitation of military objects are usually characterised by the specificity of the operation and the complexity of both the process itself and the object. This specificity may relate both to the type of tasks that these objects carry out and to the environment in which these processes take place. Complexity is usually reflected in the very structure of an object (for example, a ship, an aircraft or a helicopter) and, consequently, in its operation/maintenance system. The above mentioned features, as well as the limited access to data, naturally limits the set of publications available on this subject. In this article, the authors have presented a method of assessing the readiness of military helicopters operated by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. The readiness of technical objects used in military exploitation systems is a basic indicator of equipment preparation for executing tasks. In exploitation process research, the mathematical models are usually discrete in states and continuous in time stochastic processes, in the set of which Markov models are included. The paper presents an example of using Markov processes with discrete time and with continuous time to assess the readiness of a technical object performing tasks appearing in random moments of time. At the same time, the aim of the examined system to achieve a state of balance is presented.
