“…Hevesy could not separate the two forms of lead but he had the idea to take advantage of this impossibility. Thus, he discovered the use of radioactive isotopes as tracers [11][12][13]. The term "isotope" had not yet been coined, but Hevesy created the application of isotopes.…”

“…Comparison of thus obtained activity measurements with those of the equilibrated RaD solution used to prepare the radioactive lead chloride solution yielded the solubility of lead chromate of 1.2.10 -5 g per litre water. This study was carried out at the "Institut ftir Radiumforschung" (Institute for Radium Research) in Vienna, Austria, by Fritz A. Paneth (1887-1958) and Georg von Hevesy (1885Hevesy ( -1966 and published in 1913 [33]. It is actually the very first publication based on the G. von Hevesy's concept of radioactive indicators (radiotracers)!…”

“…However, electrical resistivity, as one of these parameters, depends on a variety of material parameters and rock-fluid interactions; therefore the result is not univocal. Other imaging methods apply tracers for labelling, which facilitates detection and quantification of the species (Hevesy and Paneth, 1913;Garrett, 1963). Spatio-temporal visualization of labelled substances requires tomographic methods with selective response to the tracer.…”
