“…Weak evidence points to an occasional use during the Bronze Age (Schubart et al, 2004) and in the 18th century (García-Guinea et al, 2000). This resource was unlikely to have been exploited during the medieval times.…”

“…It has been previously attested in the Early Bronze Age Argaric culture of South‐Eastern Iberia (Spanish provinces of Alicante, Almería, Granada, Jaén, Murcia) where we can also verify the prevalence of associating limb segments with human interments. Nevertheless, the inclusion of front limb elements is rarer than hind limbs elements (Aranda Jiménez, ; Aranda Jiménez, ; Aranda Jiménez et al, ; Aranda Jiménez & Esquivel Guerrero, ; Aranda Jiménez & Montón‐Subias, ; Liesau & Schubart, ; Sanchéz Romero et al, ; Schubart et al, ).…”

This evidence shows a preferential deposition in burial tombs of limbs and parts of the limbs of sheep/goats, cattle, and swine, along with carnivores and lagomorphs (Valera & Costa, ).…”

“…Beside this, a few cases might point to a continued use under the Argar culture during the 2 nd millennium BC in south-east Iberia. So far, only the two fluorite beads from Tomb 111 at Fuente Álamo have been documented in that period (Pozo et al 2002;Schubart et al 2006). Quantitatively, since Bensaúde recorded in the 1880´s the first Iberian fluorite bead in Cova da Moura (Cardoso et al 2012), a total of 8 beads have been registered on Iberia (Blanco and Rothenberg 1981;Gomes et al 1998;Cardoso et al 2012;Ribeiro and Loureiro 2015) 1 .…”
