Students’ Learning Interest during Online Biology Course: A Correlation Study

The objective of this study is to know the correlation between online learning and students' learning interest on biology course. This study is a correlational quantitative research. The sampling technique is purposive sample with a total sample of 164 students. The technique employed for data collection is preliminary observation, interview, and questionnaire. The data analysis technique employed used are descriptive statistical data, data normality test, linearity test and Pearson product moment correlation test. The result of this study revealed that there is a significantly positive correlation between the online learning and students' learning interest on Biology course with correlation coefficient (r) = 0.675 which was considered as strong correlation at level of 0.5% with the score of tcount > ttable = 11.671 > 1.654 in other words, the better the implementation of online learning, the better the students' learning interest on Biology Course. Teachers' innovation in online learning can support students learning interests because learning interests are not permanent so teachers must have the ability to create interesting online learning.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang menyebabkan anak putus sekolah di SD Negeri Saponda Kecamatan Soropia Kabupaten Konawe. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan anak putus sekolah di SD Negeri Saponda adalah (1) kondisi sosial yaitu mayoritas tingkat pendidikan orang tua hanya sampai tingkat SD berpengaruh terhadap keberlangsungan pendidikan anak; (2) mayoritas kondisi ekonomi orang tua rendah sehingga kebutuhan pendidikan anak kurang terpenuhi, orang tua sibuk bekerja akibatnya perhatian akan pendidikan anak menjadi terabaikan; (3) kurangnya motivasi dalam internal anak yaitu anak malas untuk melanjutkan sekolah, kemampuan akademis lemah dan orang tua kurang memotivasi anak untuk melanjutkan pendidikan. Selain itu, faktor paling dominan yang menyebabkan anak putus sekolah di sekolah tersebut adalah faktor ekonomi keluarga.

The development of the times that cannot be separated from technology certainly demands the human ability to master the technology. The world of education is also not spared from these technological developments. In this case, of course, the teacher must also be qualified in mastering technology in order to be able to present interesting learning materials for students. However, problems also began to emerge, especially in children's interest in learning, which seemed stagnant. This is caused by several factors such as monotonous learning carried out by teachers who are not at peace with technological developments. This study aims to increase children's interest in learning by using pictorial media and power point. The research method used is quantitative research with purposive sampling technique. The results of the study are: children are interested in learning after using pictorial media on subjects at Madinatussalam School are very interested based on the results of the study, it can be proven by an average value of 28,85. with the number of respondents as many as 20 children. Based on the findings of the test data that has been carried out, it can be concluded that Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted, that is, there are differences in children's learning interest for those who use illustrated learning media than those who use power point media in learning.
