Patient safety is very important. The behavior and abilities of nurses play an important role in the implementation of patient safety. This study aims to determine the relationship nurse behavior with the ability in implementing patient safety in the emergency room at Prof. Dr. Hi. Aloe Saboe hospital. The research method uses quantitative analytic observation with a cross sectional design. A sample of 28 respondents was taken with a total sampling technique. Data obtained by observation and analysis of Chi Square test (α = 0.05). The result showed that the behavior of nurses was good is 11 (68.8%) the behavior of nurses were not good is 9 (75%). The results of the analysis test p = 0.024 so it was concluded that there was a relationship between the behavior of nurses and the ability of patient safety in hospitals.

Karakteristik individu seperti jenis kelamin, umur, tingkat pendidikan, dan masa kerja merupakan variabel yangdapat mempengaruhi kinerja perawat, termasuk sikap proaktif perawat dalam melaksanakan handover. Artikel inibertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan karakteristik perawat yang terdiri dari jenis kelamin, umur, tingkatpendidikan, dan masa kerja dengan perilaku proaktif perawat di ruang rawat intensif dalam melaksanakanhandover di RSUD Zainal Abidin Provinsi Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif model deskriptifdengan desain cross sectional study. Sampel penelitian adalah seluruh perawat yang bertugas di ruang intensifyang berjumlah 124 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara online dengan bantuan aplikasi google formkemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Spearman Rank dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS. Berdasarkan hasilpenelitianditemukan bahwa perawat yang bekerja di ruang rawat intensif RSU Zainal Abidin mayoritas berjenis kelaminperempuan (68.5%) berumur 31-40 tahun (60.5%), berpendidikan Sarjana (53.2%), masa kerja 0- 5 tahun (40.3%),dan memiliki kategori perilaku proaktif tinggi dengan persentase 80.6%. Kemudian, berdasarkan hasil pengujianyang dilakukan ditemukan bahwa variabel umur dan masa kerja perawat tidak berhubungan dengan perilakuproaktif perawat dalam melakukan handover. Sedangkan variabel pendidikan dan jenis kelamin memilikihubungan yang signifikan dengan perilaku proaktif perawat dalammelaksanakan handover di ruang rawat intensifRSU Zainal Abidin Aceh.

Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation (SBAR) is one of the methods applied in implementing handover. This study aimed to evaluate SBAR- based handover by comparing its implementation between the primary and associate nurses at the inpatient hospital room Lakipadada. The research design used analytic observational. One hundred and one nurses involved in the sample were chosen using the random cluster technique. The research instrument used an observational sheet. The comparison test results showed there was one dimension of handover implementation that was not significantly different between the associate and the primary nurses, which was at the dimension assessment (p>0.05). It was evidenced by a nearly similar observational mean between the group of nurses, 11.83 for associates and 11.98 for primary nurses. Meanwhile, other dimensions (situation, background, recommendation) and the handover implementation showed a significant difference between associate and primary nurses (p>0.05). It was supported by the mean value of observation results in which primary nurses were higher than associate nurses. Therefore, it can be interpreted that the implementation of SBAR- based handover evaluation by primary nurses is better than that of associate nurses. However, the nursing fields still entail optimizing supervision activities, monitoring the implementation of SBAR- based handover, and scheduling effective communication training that could facilitate all nurses.
