Fatigue growth of a surface crack in a V-shaped notched round bar under cyclic tension

Abstract: This paper presents modeling results for fatigue crack growths of a semi-elliptical surface crack in a V-shaped notched round bar under uniform cyclic tension. All the analyses were carried out by using a software package featuring the boundary element method. The J-integral technique was used to compute the stress intensity factors (SIFs), and the NASGRO crack growth rate was chosen to simulate the fatigue crack growths. Mechanical and fracture properties of AZ-6A-T5 magnesium alloy were used for our analysis… Show more

“…Increasing the weight of 7.5% (RHA-fly ash) to Al alloy, homogeneity structure is observed due to the high amount of alumina and silica particles are present on tip of the layer attributed to increasing the material toughness as represented in Fig. 8 [22]. The higher silicon content tends to increase the heat treatment time at room temperature as well as increasing number of cycles.…”

“…Notwithstanding the need for vigorous assessment on a broader scale, especially in terms of accuracy, convergence, and flop count, its validity has been variously confirmed for problems described in the literature.
