Forming the Basic Mathematical Knowledge among Technical Students

Abstract: Mathematical knowledge plays a system-forming role in education. The aim of this paper is to find out the didactic features of mathematical knowledge formation. The study involved 50 professors, 300 students. The criteria of mathematical knowledge acquisition include reliability, autonomy, and stability. The main study objectives are as follows. First, to clarify and scientifically substantiate special functions of mathematical knowledge in the process of engineering activity (bijection, formalization, relativ… Show more

“…Mathematics, more than any other subject, has the ability to teach logic (developing reasoning skills, the ability to agree logically from what was originally given, and sufficient requirements to determine concepts, make decisions, find ways to solve problems). [16] Learning mathematical is a process of interaction between the teacher and students and between students and students, wherein the process plays an active role in investigating a problem, looking for relationships, calculating, making predictions, and verifying to form mathematical concepts and knowledge in students. Mathematical learning must pay attention to certain principles.…”

“…According to Jain & Rogers [5] critically to think and understanding and ability about numerical concepts and information is important for students in all academic areas [7]. Mathematical component of professional knowledge and global outlook reflects the skills of logical reasoning and heuristic thinking, because the task of mathematics does not consist in teaching calculus, but the methods of human thought in the calculation [8].…”

“…In the implementing process of the quality-oriented education model in higher education, more and more attention has been paid to the cultivation of college students' comprehensive quality and ability. Especially the knowledge innovation ability has gradually become a hot issue in higher education research due to the importance of knowledge in modern society and the increasing demand for innovative talents [1][2][3]. To effectively improve their own knowledge innovation ability, college students need to rely on various forces for guidance in knowledge innovation, because they're relatively weak in the aspects of professional knowledge level, scientific research innovation awareness and scientific research engineering practical experience.…”
