“…Older age seems to be associated with GCC, where mean age of GCC patients is around 52 years [24] , and others have reported appendicular GCC in two females (60 and 54 year olds) and a male (>60 years) [25] , [26] , [27] , [28] . Although a case of 31-year-old man has also been described in the literature [29] . In our cohort, the treatment for appendicular GCC is in agreement with others, where the main treatment of appendicular GCC is appendectomy and right hemicolectomy [25] , [30] .…”

“…The current literature suggests inconsistency for the exact biological behavior of GCC [29] , it could be metastasized in 15–30% of cases, particularly among higher age group [31] . Therefore, clinical follow-up of such patients is highly recommended.…”

“…However, there are several authors who do not find this treatment approach adequate and recommend more aggressive surgical resection 23 . In the literature, there are studies suggesting that right hemicolectomy should be performed in patients with high-grade malignant NET, particularly in tumours located in the root of the appendix 24 . In one patient in the present study, the tumour was located in the appendix radix and the surgical margin was positive; therefore, right hemicolectomy was performed for this patient as the second operation.…”

“…The morphological alterations in the tracheal and lung tissues were observed by a routinely used staining protocol with haematoxylin and eosin (H&E). The goblet cells in the chicken tracheal epithelium were stained by periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) staining following a previously described protocol (Mitra et al, 2013). The number of goblet cells in the chicken tracheal epithelium was assessed by a computerized image analysis program, Image-Pro Plus version 6.0 (Media Cybernetics, Rockville, MD, USA).…”
