“…The identification revealed the coexistence of two structures. The first one corresponding to PrMn 2 O 5 fitted in the orthorhombic structure with the Pbam space group [18][19][20]. The second phase fits with Pbnm space group (JCPDS files 00-054 0871) and corresponds to the expected orthorhombic perovskite structure associated to the Pr 0.6-Bi 0.4 Fe x Mn 1-x O 3 [21]; the percentage of the secondary phase is nearly constant and is around 20 %.…”

“…The crystal structure of NdMn 2 O 5 was used as a starting model. [17,18] In the first refinement, Y atoms were placed at 4g (x,y,0) positions, Mn at 4f (0,½,z) sites, Cr at 4h (x,y,½) positions, and the four crystallographically independent oxygen atoms at 4e (0,0,z), 4g, 4h and 8i (x,y,z) positions. An unsatisfactory agreement between the calculated and observed patterns was found for this atomic distribution, leading to a discrepancy R Bragg factor of 15 %.…”

“…Trabajos de los años 90 mostraron que es difícil sintetizar este tipo de compuestos mediante el método cerámico (20) y que sólo se obtienen fases puras policristalinas mediante síntesis a alta presión (18). Para resolver estos problemas posteriormente se emplearon otros métodos de síntesis tales como la electrolisis (21) o métodos sol-gel (22), que permitieron obtener compuestos monofásicos.…”
