Hydrogen peroxide detection using a polypyrrole/Prussian blue nanowire modified electrode

Abstract: A hydrogen peroxide sensor based on a polypyrrole (PPy)/Prussian blue (PB) modified electrode was developed. PPy nanowires were prepared by one step template-free electrochemical polymerization on a gold electrode and a PB layer was deposited using an electrochemical method. The introduction of the PPy nanostructure can provide a high surface area and lead to high sensitivity to hydrogen peroxide. The surface morphology of the PPy/PB electrode was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The struct… Show more

“…The ATR-IR spectra of the mp-PB/Au is depicted in Figure 1S (Electronic Supplementary Material, ESM), a strong band that appears at 2077 cm −1 corresponds to the C ≡ N stretching vibrations of PB, it is in good agreement with the predicted structure of a Au film surface functionalized with PB [2,17]. The deposition of PB on the surface of Au was also investigated by XPS.…”

“…From high resolution, some nano/subnano particles on the branches of the pore wall are obtained. The result demonstrates that the structure of the mp-PB/Au film is mostly governed by the original mp-Au film [2].…”
